the remix actually meant something
-
I never thought it meant much. Some remixes helped catapult artists, like Biggie on Craig Mack's song, but Biggie would have made it anyway.

^^adding vocals is not remixing ::)
Yeah, nowadays a remix is more of a Part 2 of a song... R. Kelly is the #1 artist in 'remixing' his tracks lol
But if you just keep your eye open you can still find good remixes here and there. I usually like those remixes of R&B or hip hop songs that they turn into a trance song :)

STFU.... flavor in your ear remix = one of the greatest posse cuts of all time.
-
The whole concept of 'remix' is a misnomer anyways.

Do you even know what the word 'remix' means?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Well it was called a remix, and that's good enough for me.

yeah, literally wouldn't mean the exact same master recording, only re-mixed?
-
I remember when the remix improved on the song, not prolong it's suffering.

exactly

yeah remixes were used to make songs better or add a new flavor to it...
now its just about gettin a newer hot artist or on the track. or if the track didnt do so good then add an artist who has a reputation for blowing songs up.
