It feels like the same shit to me...The only difference is that DSL downloads songs much MUCH faster...The pages load about the same. :-\

Either you had superfast 56K, or your DSL sucks ass..
The difference is easily spotted when you load big pages, like e.g. newspapers or The Vault index (http://www.dubcnn.com/thevault/).
