It was a very awkward shot he caught him with, no way he was expecting that. At first I was pissed because I thought it was a shot to the kidney, but it wasn't. Looked really painful because Oscar isn't one to lie on the ground and scream in pain like that.
-
that was a good fight nonetheless... cant knock oscar.. he is the 1st name name.. i wanna see the roy jones rematch now... hopkins should fight him 4 a dollar... kuz all roy is worried about is money anyway.. he lose he gain... jus like oscar..
somebody needs to get in roy's ear...so he can tryin to be david..fightin these goliath's nowadays... nigga get to ya real weightclass and fight a nigga who hit like those heavyweights.. u caught hopkins when he was up and comin.. catch him now.. :o

Damn man... I was hoping Oscar could pull it off. I didn't even think he could get knocked out. I think the rematch with Tito should be next, let him mess with Tito, finally beat Sugar Shane, and then he can call it a career. But you can never take away the fact that Oscar tried to pull off one of the greatest upsets in history, and was in position to pull it off. If I was him, I'd beat Tito, beat Sugar Shane, then try one more time at Hopkins, if he doesn't retire. I have way more respect for Oscar after this, he had the balls to try the impossible, and took it like a man, and will comeback like a man.
-
If Oscar stays in the shape he was when he fought Hopkins, he would destroy Tito and Sugar Shane. You can tell he was more motivated than ever.
-
dam man i wish i cood have seen that fight sounds like it was one action packed fight
-
go philly... i ddint even watch this tho

Oscar close to pulling it off? What fight were u watching. The first two rounds when they were hardly boxing just measuring each other up went to Oscar ...but after that it was all Hopkins, Hopkins, Hopkins. After the 8th round, Oscar in his corner was damn near DYING while Hopkins was just sitting down cool in his corner. Oscar got in shape...but his stamina wasnt there. Basically any ok body shot would have knocked out a tired Oscar De La Hoya. It was a wack ass fight...pure dominance by Hopkins
-
someone hook it up with a download...
-
what was stupid was, Oscar wasn't doing HIS thing, he wasn't boxing, he was fighting.
-
damn it i missed it >:( but i was telling all you in here hopkins would spank de la hoya...de la hoya has gotta be one of those way overrated athletes(like ali!) and it really showed by him going down on a body bunch..still like watching his fights though...but he hasnt showed me anything in the last few fights

How is he overrated? You got a guy who started at 130 going up in weight to fight the middleweight champion and gave him a decent fight. Unlike Roy Jones, who played it safe when it came to opponents and still got fucked up by a no body, Oscar took a huge chance. You gotta give the guy repsect for that at least. He wants to fight the two top guys in his division (Tito & Mosley) but they keep dodging him. One thing is certain though, his days as a middleweight are over.

^^^any big fight that he's been challenged he's lost except for the vargas fight...the only other big fights he's had...mosley twice, trinidad, and hopkins...he lost...and dont give that bs about chavez who was light years past his prime....
and and btw antonio tarver isnt a nobody

C'mon man, he beat Trinidad. I don't give a shit what the score cards said. And he beat Mosely the second time, another bullshit decision.
As for Hopkins, what do you expect. In boxing the good big guys can always beat the good little guys. I'd like to Hopkins move up to Heavy and see his assed get kicked. Hopkins couldn't even beat a current George Foreman, forget about the young heavyweights.
-
good job Bernard!!
I cant stand De La Hoya really. i watched that fight in a room fulla mexicans lol so im pretty sure i was the only one goin for Hopkins...but im so glad he knocked his ass out. Im sure he woulda got screwed in a decision if it went to the cards anyways like we usually see in De La Hoya fights, so its good he just took him out.

he already lost vs some young german gun shortly before that fight... he aint shit no more

Nah he won against Sturm, but it was very VERY close.

I know he "won".. but .. you know :D I think it was a fuckin' fraud because it wouldve been a joke if he had lost in his warm-up fight, loll....
-
Of course, money comes before anything and people knew de la hoya vs hopkins would draw a lot of cash. It's sad
-
what was stupid was, Oscar wasn't doing HIS thing, he wasn't boxing, he was fighting.
he did that same shit against sturm.
-
Oscar can retire now if he wants, he'll still go down in history as one of the best. he's only 31 too.
