I don't know about you all, but I am definitely tired of seein all the beef go on with all of the rappers on the west coast right now. It seems like 75% of all the rappers we know got beef with somebody. Lyrical feuds are essential to hip hop, but we all know what beefs nowadays lead to, and most of the battles and diss tracks aren't even lyrical, it's all disses based on street cred and gossip.
I can understand why a lot of the beefs do start, but the "World War I" effect that happens always ends up blowin everything out of proportion to where it's impossible for both sides to stop. In World War 1, when Archduke Ferdinand was killed by the Serbians, all the alliances started to gang up and that one person's murder ended up startin a World War. This is what happens in rap, especially on the west...one person has beef with another, which makes the whole camp have beef with the other camp, and that keeps it going and going.
Also, if the beef just stayed on record, it would be cool. But seein how the west coast has the image of bein so gangsta, and everybody has to prove how gangsta they are, this is how people end up gettin jumped, shot, and killed. Even though I am down with Game's camp, I don't get involved in any of the beefs, and I still like some of the artists that they beef with, just because I am not like "oh they dissed Game, fuck them" that's ignorant to me. But instead of seein em all feud and threaten each other, I wish they could just come together on some tracks, because they will appeal to each other's fanbases instead of just causin more division. On this board, I see an obvious division between North Ca and South Ca, and when beefs happen like Yuk and Game, that just keeps us separated.

In general, I dont mind beef - unless it goes way too far like Pac & Biggie. Why? Because we get some dope as tracks and some movement in the game.
But I also dont like what's going on right now, since the Westcoast isnt in its prime you know what Im saying. So when the 2 biggest WestCoast-Artists have beef, when the West is already pretty lame compared to the East, shit's really, really sad.

A lot of people think of it the same way. But in the west, there have been so many different situations to happen from beef, and even though most of them didn't involve murder, it was still serious shit goin on. We get some dope disses sometimes, but most are only good for a chuckle. Do you think we'll still be playin the Game vs Yuk disses in 5 years? Somewhat like you said..if it was like Nas and Jay who were definitely both top 5 artists in the game, those disses were classic and will always be looked at. But just like nobody cares about the Ja Rule and Eminem and 50 disses anymore, the same happens with most of these west coast disses, especially since only the fans of the artists usually hear em.
But on the flipside, collaborations can be classic, and if not classic they are definitely dope as hell. Look at how dope Pac and Snoop were on "2 of amerikaz most wanted" being that they were two of the top rappers in the west and in the country at the time. If we could have collabs like this nowadays, we'd definitely be helpin each other out. Hopin we'll be back on the scene in a year, the disses just make artists look worst because the fans of the person talkin shit will usually take their side and hate on the opponent, compared to if they collabed and the fans would come together and like both artists more, if you get what I am sayin.

In my opinion, what’s going on now is nothing but setting the pecking order straight.
Somebody is on track to become the biggest thing in the west, and people who haven't had as much success or aren't in a position to become as big him, try and tear that person down.
It's a re-organization of sorts. People are making moves; others don't like it, and try to stop it.
I just hope it stays on wax.

I don't like this current situation... 'cause it puts Oaktown vs. LA. That right there is bad, 'cause the Bay and LA never had beef. They always seems to find ways to keep unified, wither it was Snoop and Hammer, or 'Pac and Death Row, or whatever, they always seemed to be one westcoast. But now you have a situation which the Bay and LA now see each other, and it's not friendly. What could end up happening is they stop supporting each other, and that would not be a good thing for either side. Now people are like, no one knows Yuk in LA. well play I Got 5 On It, and they'll know the Luniz. They know that song, and I'm sure a few peeps can tell you more. Bay and LA need to come together. We got a whole coast here sleeping. We need to unite it and come out as a united westcoast, instead of beefing and holding each other down. Shit, no telling what would happen with an E-40/Snoop colabo, or any other Bay/LA colabo.

imo trying to make moves by diss tracks is the wrong way. the formula must be "lets bring the whole west back on the map", sensless diss tracks against each other are the wrong way and makes the west looks like shiiit. probably outside the west nobody cares about these shitty diss cuts.
