it said the doors would be open at 7:30, but i figured it would be late, so i went at about 8:15. Guess what? they didnt let people in until 9. The Hub was jam-packed, with about 500-600 people. I must have been about 6 yards from the stage at first, and throughout the show, moved probably within 3 yards of the stage.
Aight, so first up was all Bukue One. He hyped the crowd with this other dude, whose name i couldnt hear. THey were pretty tight but nothin special, i think. Bukue introduced Zion I, who was completely fuckin ridiculous. Everyone had their hands in the air, people were definitely feelin it. Zion performed for about 40 minutes, and the cool thing was that he had a wide variety of different shit.
After Zion I, there was a pretty long pause, about 15 minutes. The DJ started playin beats and scratchin, and then Aceyalone entered the stage and started rappin. He definitely ripped it. He was then joined by Abstract Rude, who's not all that, if u ask me. Then Mikah9 joined them, and he was definitely not on their level. Anyway, they rocked the mic for like an hour almost.
When Del was comin up, the place went completely nuts, everyone was screamin on top of their lungs. There was another cat with Del, i think it was Casual. After a couple cuts, A-Plus from Souls of MIschief came out, and it was ridiculous once more. They didn't perform any huge hits though, except for "Clint Eastwood". People were definitely feelin every minute of it. Anyway, A-Plus left early, and del perfromed about 3-4 more songs, and he wouldn't sing "Mastermind" at the end, even though everyone was askin for it. It finished at about 12:30AM, so the show went on for more than 3 hours, some crazy shit. Zion I was sellin CD's afterwards.
Overall, i'd say that i enjoyed Zion I's performance most of all, it was just the dopest shit i've heard in a while. Del's was probably second. It's funny cuz i didnt know how del looked until today, and he looks nothin like ice cube, more like snoop. He had his eyes closed for the most part and had this funny pilot hat. Anyway, it was a great fuckin show, and the 18 bucks i paid for it were totally worth it. It would have been a crime not to go

your fucking lucky. glad you enjoyed it though

Del = one of the greatest Hip-Hop acts of all time.
I'd love to see him live.
-
del = one of the worst live performers.
has no energy, and from my own experience and of many of my friends, almost everytime he has a show, he fuckin is too fucked up to stand up, and ends up just sitting down and rappin..
ive seen him when he was promoting deltron, and he was sittin down
and when he was at here last year he was also sittin down
and i've heard plenty of accounts from other friends about him sitting down at shows. seriously.. like how live can that get.

man..i got about every del the funky song ever (hero and everything)..i'd blow a nut if i found out he's coming to vancouver...lucky for my nut =/
