Copped yesterday on release date, and played solidly from 6pm til 1 in the morning. All I can really say wow! FIFA has been well and truly sonned.
-
Beast, gunna ave to get it.
-
Yeah man, pick it up as soon as you can, has all this seasons Premiership teams in it, although the transfers are a little behind (Liverpool don't have Alonso, Everton still have Rooney, etc), but its so easy to edit it all this time that its not really a problem. The animation is top notch, and there are incidents where the referee has to step in to stop people from fighting and stuff like that. Goalies have improved a lot, but it is now possible to score more screamers from long range if you're coming onto the ball. There are so many little touches that just make it better than last year's version, I have a feeling I'm gonna be discovering new stuff in this game for months yet.

Pro2 is wack compared to Pro3.
Those who have played Pro4, says Pro3 is wack compared to Pro4.. can't wait to cop it. :)
The only bad thing is that you have to edit the English teams, North London etc. sucks.
-
You can edit everything, man. Or you can download patches. So it's easy. Once you download a good patch (there are tons of them in the net), the game is really perfect.
-
I've play fifa 2005 alot this week. its entertaining enough for me. its a lot better than 2004.

Yeah Pro Evo 2 did suck a lot, Pro Evo 3 was better than that, but the new one is a big leap forward for me, everything is just better executed than in previous editions. The editing only takes a few minutes anyway, cause the menus are well easy to use this time, I had Tottenham renamed, and with all their new players within about ten minutes.
I'm still discovering stuff with this game though, had a big tournament with some mates yesterday, and so many cool things happened. The funniest is when you score a goal, the player goes away to celebrate, and then the commentator says "oh, the linesman's got his flag up", and the goal gets disallowed. Pure quality, especially when it happens to one of your mates.

Well, you're still young, so there still might be hope for you. ;)
Peep what the experts say:
Pro Evolution Soccer 4 - Average score: 93 (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps2/proevolutionsoccer4/)
FIFA Soccer 2005 - Average score: 81 (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps2/fifasoccer2005/)
And that's the average of about 10-12 reviews by games sites.. it's not even a competition.

Yeah, but unfortunately there's more teams in Europe than Tottenham.. ;D
I often play Milan, Inter, Barca, etc. so you gotta change a grip of player names, especially the Dutch names are always ridiculous.

I played it yesterday for the first time... found it a bit strange compared to PES3 cause to me it felt less realistic because of the new passing system.. passes just work better which is cool but then again it felt too easy... especially the goalies improved a lot on short range shots.. what used to be a 90% goal in Pes3 gets caught now alsmost evertyime... just gotta adapt.. cant wait for November for the PC version.. though I havenīt figured out that indirect freekick system I really like the idea .. fooled a friend of mine yesterday with that trick.. lol ... also they fixed that shot-gauge-meter thing.. in PES3 those meters just got up way to quick now they seem to work properly...

How does that work? I mean do you have the option to press a button after you shot a goal to go for the celebration or is that done automatic and you just lose the goal for that shit.. because if you canīt choose then I think thats just shit.. like that "hands" thing in PES3 .. that always upset me because it only did harm to my play and almost never got me any advantage... lol
Hopefully the PC version supports multplayer via the internet because for now I only read about multiplayer via LAN...

Jome, the Italian and Spanish leagues are fully licensed, player names, kits sponsers and makes, team names, everything, so you don't need to do anything for them, except do a few transfers that have happened since the game was made. I haven't noticed too many problems with player names, all the Premiership teams seem to have the correct names, and along with Spain and Italy those are the only clubs I really play with. Did play with Porto and noticed their names were a little screwed up though.
daWappla - didn't quite understand what you were getting at. Basically, sometimes when you shoot first time when you receive the ball in a offside position and it goes in, your player runs away to celebrate as if you have actually scored a goal. Of course, you were really offside so half way through the celebration the camera flicks to the linesman, who has his flag up, and the goal is disallowed because you were offside. On the handball thing, I haven't seen a single handball since I started playing, so I think they have probably scrapped that idea. The new advantages system is amazing though.

OMFG.. I totally misunderstood what you meant.. matter of fact my brain just seems to have made up a own theory.. lol... I try to explain.. I thought that after a goal was scored the scorer would run around and celebrate and if he celebrated too much that the goal would have been denied by the linesman... lol like players get a yellow card when they take off their shirt while celebrating... I seriously thought that your gaol wouldnīt count because you celebrated too much... and I didnīt even notice that that thought was complete bullshit.. lol
thanks for clearing that up.. :D
and btw.. what about that "indirect" freekick system... I didnīt find out how to make a pass to the player that actually shoots the ball... and if there ainīt at least another player that makes a ballcontact then it simply ainīt a indirect freekick.. all I could do is tell the other player to jump over th ball as if he would fake the shot but I didnt get him to make a pass.... I thought about that system as agreat way to get the ball around the wall so the shooter gets a clear shot on the goal but now I wonder if that is possible at all...

To make the other player line it up for you press down the right analogue stick so it clicks, and he'll roll it to the side. If you want the guy who is supposed to be lining up the shot for you to take the freekick instead then hold down L1 and press the Shoot/Long Ball/Pass command, and he will do it instead of the actual kicker.
-
ahh okay nice... thx... only did that indirect free kick 3 times and just tried the obvious buttons.. pass, shoot, through pass... lol ... good to hear you can do that... omg fuck i want that GAME....
-
I think the shooting system is shite.
You cant hit long shots, dead hard to actually angle the ball on goal...most shots if not from inside the 6 yard area go either right at the keeper or wide.

I think you just need to get used to it, you can score some screamers from long range once you get the hang of the shooting. I admit in one on ones, it is quite difficult to angle the ball round the goalie though, you have to aim wide and curl it in for it to really work, I normally just try and go round the keeper anyway, or chip him.
-
scored 2 nice goals so far one with Kezman and one with Rooney.
Still pissed off with the normal shots though.

..a quick question..
..the goalies in 1:1 situations seem to catch every ball they get and it seems pretty impossible to score from close range like 1 meter away from the keeper (compared to PES3) so I wondered whether that special ability "1:1 scoring" (or whatever its called) makes any difference ... like in PES3 I didnīt even notice a significant difference between palyers with that special ability and others who didnīt have it..
... so I thought maybe now its like players with that ability are able to score short range goals just like PES3 and without that ability you just canīt .. or at least not without a big amount of luck...
is there actually any thruth about that thought or is it bullshit? lol
thanks

I dunno it could be that way, does seem easy with some like Henry to place the ball around the goalie than with an average player. I think you just have to use that small chip over the keeper or go round him more, the simple place round the goalie is a lot harder.
