Saw this last night, was dope.
Well done Red Sox.
-
anybody see the nike comercial where they had the family in the first row over the years.........man that shit touched me! lol
call me a bandwagon jumper but i think i like the red sox now.........it's still all about the dodgers and angels but go red sox too,lol
-
^ I agree with you man... the Nike commercial was the best. It's funny that they were totally rooting for the Red Sox, but without mentioning their name.
It sounds like Red Sox Nation has a new member... welcome.
I too jumped on, but I did it mid season LAST year... I moved out here to Boston from Los Angeles... I've never really been into baseball (although I've always rooted for the Dodgers...being from L.A. and all)... but the Red Sox are exciting to follow. They have the best fans... loyal after all that loss.
Anyway... I've placed a curse on the Celtics. I'm a big Laker fan and I can never root for the Celtics. GO LAKERS!!!
GO RED SOX!!! Parade tomorrow!

10 bucks says they play like shit for the next ten years. New York should have signed Randy Johnson and none of this would have happened. Technically speaking, with the rules that were present when Ruth made the curse, the Sox wouldn't have even been in the Series, and that stupid all star game home advantage rule is stupid. This was the worst series I've ever watched. It's like the curse was reversed and the Cards were affected by it. If they were gonna play that bad they should have just let Houston win game 7. I refuse to give my congratulations to Boston. I hate how people play them up like some sort of underdog when they spend more money than any other team oustide new york. I don't hate the Bo Sox, I just despise Pedro. That faggot goes on like he's the greatest player to ever throw a ball. I never liked him. I liked him a lot less during that whole beaned ball folowed by Pedro saying nect time it's your head. I wish Paul O'Niel was still around and up to bat, because I would have loved to see him try that shit on him. The this asshole claims that if Babe were around today he'd strike him out 4 times. One on one I don't think anybody could beat Ruth in his prime. Fucking Pedro.

Pedro is one of the greatest pitchers to play the game. It's called trash talkin'... it happens in all sports. And if being down 0-3 to the Yankees is not being the underdog, what is?! Don't hate... congratulate!

Hey I just don't like the guy. Simple as that. I don't like the Sox either. I don't mean underdogs in the seiries with the Yanks. I mean underdogs in the season. Look at that team, and tell me they're underdogs.
And if they didn't change the stupid rules, the Sox wouldn't have been in the Series anyway. What ever happened to just chasing the penant, and having the two teams with the best records go at it in the series. That's what I want to see. Fuck playoffs, it just makes the season seem less important. Baseball would be so much better if they went back to 16 teams and played till the end. Most teams don't make money anyway. Oh well, it's not gonna happen. I'm still not congratulating the Red Sox. With the curse of hte Bambino being broken, Baseball won't have much to talk about.

shallow, first off the yankees could not sign RJ b/c he is not a free agent. Second they could not trade for him b/c the yankees currently have the worst farm system in baseball. They have absolutly no1 the D-Backs would want. Thats why the trade never went down. And please dont bring up the old playoff formual, the way baseball works now, it would never ever work, an for 25 teams there would be almost no reason to even show up so drop the whole boo hoo if they didnt change the way the playoffs word the bosox wouldnt be here... boo friggin hoo. someone sounds like a bitter yankee fan. Bottom line, the way the yankees collapsed in the playoffs, especially against the red sox is the best thing to happen to baseball in years, more so than even the McGwire/Sosa home run chase in 98. Baseball fans rejoiced, not just boston fans but baseball fans in general. Everyone i talked too, it reassured there beliefe in baseball. The evil empire is officially dead. It basically starts a clean slate for baseball fans b/c yankee fans can not bring up the 26 world series an the whole mystique b/c they are officially the biggest chokers in sports history. Someone sounds like a bitter yankee fan.

I'm not a Yankees fan. To be honest I was cheering for Clemens durig these playoffs. You're from New York, I'm from Toronto remember?, and a proud Jays fan, except in 93 when all those non baseball fans jumped on the band wagon. I was the only guy in Toronto cheering for John Kruk. I am not a Yankees fan. I am a hater though, and won't bother denying that. I'm a very emotional sports fan.
As for the elimination of the playoffs; I only want that so the season would mean more, and the last 2 weeks would be special. Look how important the wild card race is. Imagine how much more important it would appear if it was for the title, and a World Series appearance. Playoffs are the only thing in baseball that get any ratings. It's a damn shame.
As for the Big Unit; I wish I could count how many great players the Yankees got from other teams while giving up nothing. Shit for Johnson, I would have given up Jeter, put Arod on SS, and brought Boone back. Jeter or no Jeter, if the Yanks had RJ they'd have beaten the Sox. I also think the Cards would have done better if they had started at home, like they should have. Stupd Bud Selig and friends and their stupid ideas to chage things. They wanna change something, they should put Joe Jackson in the Hall of Fame, where he belongs.
oh and for the record, the biggest chokers in sports aren't the Yanks. That title belongs to, unfortuantely, the team I've always cheered for (except during the Rob Johnson years), The Buffalo Bills.

well, now the red sox don't got the excuse of the curse anymore when they dont win it agian for another 50 or so years
however, i might be congratting you guys now..but i still fuckin hate the red sox with all my heart :)

1. I didnt know you were from toronot
2. The last 2 weeks are special of the baseball season, b/c you still have devision races going on. And how is it more special if we go back to the old format. If we went back to the old format with the way baseball is now 25 teams could call it quits right from the word go. If that was the case, raitings for baseball would be even lower than they are now. I really dont see what so exciting about that. Excitment, what about the one game playoff between the mets an the reds in 99 where al letier pitched a one hitter. If you want to go back to the old format, you would have to contract 6 to 8 teams an put a hard salery cap on baseball, an thats never going to happen
3. RJ was never going to the yankees. You just cant move jeter an bring boone back. I believe jeter has a no trade clause. I doubt he would waive it to leave a potential WS team for a last place team. It would also be a HORRIBLE pr move, jeter is god like in ny. The Dbacks also do not want to take on a big contract. They want to save money an build from with in the organization. Takin jeter in a trade goes against that. IMO he is a great player but quite possibly the most overatted player in the game today. Even if he is overatted tho, he is more valuable to the yankees than Arod is. And you cant bring Boone back, he was out for the season.
4. Yankees choke >>> the Bills of the early 90's choke

4. Yankees choke >>> the Bills of the early 90's choke
1) I thought we spoke about Toronto before. My mistake.
2) I would like to see less teams and more competetition. That doesn't mean I'm expecting it. The best thing they can do for business now is shorten the season and start the playoffs in late August with 8 teams from each side. I don't like it, but it would work better with the common fans.
3) When I said I'd trade Jeter I was simply trying to express how much I'd give up for Randy. The bottom line is that Yankees have gotten big name guys for nothing before, and they'd do it again. Arizona wasn't going anywhere this year, or next year. They could have worked something out. Even if they didn't, the point I wanted to make was that Yankees needed one more Ace on their team, and that's why they lost.
4) How can a team with the most championships ever be a choke? I just don't get it. They still make it far and they'll probably go on another streak in a couple years. Besides losing to Boston isn't a huge deal. Boston is a great team, and should be looked upon as one. It was a close series and the Yanks lost. No shame there. Yanks lost to Florida who were way more hungry and had some very good pitchers, then they lost to the Schilling/Johnson combo which no one would have beat that year. That isn't choking it's just getting beat by a very good team. It's not that they break down under pressure, it's that the other teams plays it's ass off. Watch the four Bills Superbowls, and then watch the Bills during the season. You'll see a significant difference in play.
