Word is that Daz Dillinger has closed up shop at DPG Recordz and officially signed to Dre's Aftermath Records. Furthermore, he will team up with 50 Cent and Soopafly and form a new group. While the name of the group is unknown, it will not be called DPG because Death Row owns the name. It might be important to note that 50 Cent has a group called G-Unit, and Daz may adopt that name.
i HIGHLY doubt that this is true
-
that WOULD be pretty damn cool...
But hey, I can dream.
Ice cube, Dr Dre, Daz, 50 Cent, Truth Hurts, and others....
Wow.
Thats the only thing I could say to describe it...
-
The shit about G Unit with Daz & 50 Cent is true, I know that is FACT. Havent heard anything about Aftermath tho......
Wouldnt surprise me, Cent is there, ya know...
-
well i could see it, daz and dre in the studio together again. that would be great but i thought they couldnt get along
-
sounds tight...dont know how true it is though

If this is true then then eventually Snoop will too...sheeit maybe Kurupt and Nate will sign to the Aftermath! yeah right, but who's to say
-
That would be fucked up ...

same here...
-

I bet is bullshit straight up.

Let me remind you that nothing official has been announced by either Daz or Aftermath, but this is what the DPG webmaster has said.
---------------------------
whut the fuck......... strange..... they say the source is Kronik... hitemup dont normally report BS tho.
-
Let me remind you that nothing official has been announced by either Daz or Aftermath, but this is what the DPG webmaster has said.
they updated their news cause when i read it and posted it here it didnt say that about the DPG webmaster....but he just signed to DOggystyle, why would Daz be part of 3 different labels?
-
thats bullshit, obviously misquoted...
-
Maybe Snoop gave Daz some motivation to get clean "Yo cuz you get clean I'ma hook you back up with dre"
-
This what Kronik posted over at the Street Life Board about DPGRecordz.com being down:
Under Construction!
Wassup peeps...
The labels name has been changed...and we gotta redo a few things..
give us a few days to get up a clean site and fix this forum up a bit..tha colors are a lil shitted out..but we'll clean that up soooooon!...
in the meantime...drop some words on what you want from tha new design of the site...also tell us what you don't want...
we'll try to make things coo for all...
STREET LIFE RECORDS...the streetz are alive!
kronik.
We already knew the label name will change ...nothing new, I bet this news is bullshit!
-

kronik has been saying that daz is still shopping for a better deal because he wouldnt drop 'forever' on doggystyle.. even though he's down with, and working with them.
-
they changed the labels name? duh
-
well yeah for his indie stuff...... Gangsta Perogotive i think
-
In my capacity as the world's biggest Fred Wreck hater I must remind you of a unknown fact: Daz is a better producer than Fred Wreck. ;D
-
I´ll ask Kirdis for more information ... but i dont believe that
-
sure...and daz was supposed to go to rocafella...then dogghouse and now aftermath... ::) ::) ::)
-
your forgot bad boy lol
-
What ???
It's kind of strange. A few weeks ago there was the news on the Doggystyle website that Daz has signed to Snoop's label, but DPG RECORDZ will still relase ish. Now he should have signed to Aftermath after he tried to kill himself. I don't know, what's going on in Daz's camp.

yea but remember DPG Recordz management went through reorganization a few days ago so they probably cleared everything up and changed thangs again
-
I doubt this shit is 100% true.......Daz dont get along wit Dre......Snoop and Dre are rumoured to be beefin'?.......and tha same reason Snoop didnt and wont jump ship to Aftermath, cuz its like sayin' that I (Snoop or Daz) cant make hit records witout Dre.......just my opinions.....
-
SNoop & Dre are not Beefin
-
no beef......but.....u know that Snoop has bad feelings towards Dre for not takin' his back against Suge......whether he makes it public and calls out Dre's name on wax or not anybody can tell that Snoop "on the inside" has bad feelings towards Dre but just dont let his emotions get tha best of him.........
-
He'll probably just do an album on Aftermath, and help with production, while running his own label, and helping out doggystyle. People can be on more than 1 label if they're in more than 1 group, of course.
If he did get back in with Dre, I say good. They don't need to be beefing like that for 10 years.
-
This new's is pathetic.....
I can't bare to watch DpG go down in flames like this, Daz Has hitt rock bottom and it's showing. If this Aftermath bullshit goe's thru, then Daz Dillinger is a bigger hipocrite than Kurupt ImO.
Daz goes from being the heart n' soul of DpG to the fucken laughing boy of the internet....if he keep's this shitt up he will lose all of his true's who stuck through all of his many low's.
If he sign's wit' Aftermath and form's a group with the reported above.....then I can truley say Daz is DONE.
Dillinger has made it this far without him (Dre).....why doe's he need him now? This is what made Daz tight for his true's, He ran alone and didn't need them other foo's (Dre & Snoop) who never gave him any support over the year's.
I love Dre & Snoop.....But Daz has alway's been my favorite act outta the entire O.G. Deathrow inmates.
So this new's of Daz closing up shop....is fucked.
I hope this shitt is fake as fuck..

I can't see him ever closing up his record label, but how long do you expect him to go on releaseing stuff outta the back of his van? That was probably getting pretty old, when he's getting halfway distributed, and only selling 10,000 copies of each cd, worldwide. If you consider he probably gets 5 bucks a cd, that's 50,000 if he's got a GOOD deal. He's making chump change. Throw in the costs of recording, the cost of videos, running his website, he's gotta get some money somewhere. Signing with a major, you're guaranteed to sell at least 100,000, even though you'll only make a couple bucks a cd, that's still 200 grand.
-
He'll probably just do an album on Aftermath
I doubt that he will do a solo album on Aftermath......if that is tha case Dre will have to make it be perfection and Daz wont want to wait around for Dre.......he'd just decide to take it all by his self.....I just dont see Dre and Daz in the studio doin' alot of shit together even they do hook back up and work out their differences......even tho it would be nice to see Dre and Daz back in the studio together like old dayz, I just dont see it happenin' that often......I hope Im wrong tho...... :D
-
WTF, this cant be true, would be hella fuccin dumb to sign to doggystyle and then to aftermath, what da hell iz dat? And since when owns Death Row the name DPG? They own the name Tha Dogg Pound, Daz owns the DPG name, cause he took it as alternative name to Tha Dogg Pound. Would be fucc'd if this true.
-
I even heard Daz mention his of Doggystyle. I doubt Daz is on Aftermath. That's gotta be b.s.
-
Didant Daz say that Dre has taken creit for a lot of the work he has done eg The Chronic and Doggystyle. Surely Dre wouldnt sign someone who basically said he was a theif and a fraud.
-
no. daz claims a few things here and there like 2 songs on the doggystyle.
thing is... was that actually Dre's fault? or did suge push that through... ?
this shits nearly 10 years old... cant they make up?
-
Dam, I don't anything can surprise on this board anymore. If this is true, dam...Dre is HUSTLING. I wouldn't be surprised if Nate, Xzibit or Snoop eventually sign. 50 Cent, Ice Cube, Ice-T...now Daz?
-
maybe i'm wrong..... they could become bigger than def jam...
P.S. I just jumped on the 50 cent bandwaggon:

I remember in an interview Daz saying that he wasn't given credit for production work on The Chronic. This is something that could never be fixed cause neither of them could back down from their statements. Dre said that he always gives credit to others even if they contribute a little something to the track. One of them is gotta be lying and if one of them admits that, they would lose a lot of credibility.
I don't know how they could work together because of this.
-
If this is true, it's great. Aftermath with Dre, Eminem, Rakim, Ice Cube and Daz would be a very strong label.
But it's known Dre was mad at daz for claiming the production on doggystyle. But it is possible they cleared the air once and fore all.
If this is true (which I really don't believe), then Dre has to have a new contract with interscope. Because not only Dre's perfection makes that so little albums are released. Interscope has a big role in aftermath and only wants a few albums a year and that album they wanna promote good and make it a hit record.
They will never release on one day two or more albums for one group of buyers and trie to avoid collisions with concurrents.
But hey, I hope Dre gets permission to relaese more records a year. He can build a bigger group of producers and artists.
If he signed Daz, my biggest question is why not Warren G????

It wasn't bout "The Chronic," it was about "Doggystyle." Even in that case I doubt he did anything cause all hi sbeats after that never were as tight as the shit Dre did on "Doggystyle."
-
bullshit... Daz used to diss Dre only two months ago on his forum, now he's gonna sign with him?? I'm VERY confident that this is fake
-
i believe it when i see it
-
jus think about it if its tru its gonna be badd ass Daz and Dre im not really believing it but they can put all there shyt behind them ur in tha game to make money not friendz. im out!!!
-
if this is true that makes it daz and dre vs. kurupt and suge....
interesting, especially as kurupt has said hes going to diss back at snoop and daz.
If this has really happened theres no way dre can keep aftermath out of snoops beef with tha row now.

Damn. you said it perfectly. I had a whole speech in my head but you got to it first. Props. This rumer shit is getting way out of hand. Daz was always my fav cuz he ran DPG Recordz SOLO. The Mak And Daz thing did piss'd me off though.. Still does... Still dont understand his reasonning behind that move..
but everything else he's done on an independant level has been str8 gangsta. INDY like a mutha fucka.. from the albums. to the production.. to the guest appearances... all INDY gangsta shit. It would suck to see him give up freedom for Dre's camp.. just to put out an album full of Dre's 2001 production formula. I'm so tired of Dre's production. It's not classic anymore. It's over used. Hopefully Cube wont fall pray to Dre's magical 2001 formula.
Ax
-
Dre has never stayed the same musically....He hit you and then saturate the industry with his style....Any new tracks
coming out of that camp will be elevated....Everyone is
playing catch-up....As you see, people are now introducing
that ORIENTAL/INDIA sound.
-
Come on lets be honest Daz needs a change like. His production of lately has been poor and his music has been poor, maybe dre and the math can get his career back on track.
-
man i find this hard to believe but i mean with all the shit that daz has gone through lately, jus let the nigga be and let him do whatever he feels like will make him abit more happy ya getz me
-
It's either a bullshit rumour, or if in fact true... either way we'll never see a DAZ album from Aftermath anyways just like King T, Hitman, and even Rakim so far. IMO it's bullshit but it's funny to read about rumours like this. ;D
-
I'm so tired of Dre's production. It's not classic anymore. It's over used.
Thats what I said some weeks ago, everybody is/has workin/worked with dre : x, eminem, eve, busta rhymes, bilal,...
So this better be NOT tru

BS

man i heard kronik started the rumor, so if he says no comment, he'll probably wants to keep the rumor going on.
Probably hopes to get the rumor mainstream (MTV) and so get daz's name into the heads of Dre and eminem fans.

well if I were Snoop or Daz i'd be like if the shoe fits then wear it! the only Hitt Snoopy has to his name w/o Dre is 'Drop it like it's Hot' yet nothing comes to mind when I think of Daz outside of the DR dayz... lol ::) :'(
