i just read a thread where people were saying that can you control your hoe was the best song on snoops new album. its a lousy song and snoop cant sing. he is gonna utilize 3 mins of his album just singing. thats not why hes famous and he's not good at it. The worst thing is rappers think its ok to do it. people like eminem have no business singing, it actually hurts the ears. a hook here and there is alright, but any entire song....its a fuckin joke. and very annoying too.

Indeed,most rappers can't sing...that isn't bad in itself,but it's reaaaaaal bad when they do a whole song like that.....singin...
I did like Snoop's 'Leave me alone' though,eventhough he sang it.

i basically agree. If you're Lauryn Hill you can rap and then do a few songs singing, if you're Calvin Broadus you shouldn't

Bone are the only rappers i tolerate when they sing(which they do alot).

Some rappers are good at singing (Bone Thugs, Andre 3000) other aren't (Ja Rule). Its as simple as that.

I don't think y'all feel it the same way that me and most people I know do.
For one, the fact that most rappers can't sing is the reason that many people like me may like a certain song they sing on. As dumb as it sounds, it's not that we are listenin to the song to judge their vocal skills. Since they can't sing and most of us can't sing, it's kinda fun singin along to their off key melody. Many times, it's just hillarious like on Biggie's "playa hater" Snoop "leave me alone" and Biz Markie "Just a friend." When 50, Game, Lloyd, Redman, Method man, and most rappers sing on songs, we can sing right along with it. What the hell do I look like tryin to sing a Usher song hittin high notes n shit?
Also, I don't know if you realize it, but on most rap songs, especially the harder and darker ones, somebody who is really SINGIN on it will not blend. Imagine Ginuwine or somebody singin on "Higher" where Game sings, it just doesn't work!

I feel you. Take a song like Nas's "My Country". How would it sound with Luther singing the hook? It would sound weird. It does get annoying at times, like Ja Rule.
This is nothing new, Slick Rick has been singing on hooks on his tracks for years. Krs would do that reggae singing thing on his albums. DJ Quik has the "Bombbud" songs.

Its cool if you've got people like Shock G that can sing the hook, but it really ruins shit like on GRODT when 50 sang like every other fucking hook; ruined a dope album

i just see it as Snoop DOgg doin a garbage album only because he can, he is just tryin to expand all of his abilities, reguardless of whether or not they are good ones, he just wants to be able to say that he's done it all.
