Title: Nate Dogg is falling off big time
Post by: mauzip on November 08, 2004, 05:34:33 PM
I can't come to another conclusion than this one. Nate Dogg has fallen off and still is falling off. He used to make horrible songs great songs, but now he can't even save average tracks anymore. His appearance on Encore is not that great, on Thugs Get Lonely Too neither. The tracks on Fabolous' and Lil Jon's albums are overrated by many of ya'll IMO. I certainly don't have em on repeat :-X

The last track with Nate Dogg on it that was actually on Nate Dogg's level was Boys N Tha Hood with Daz and before that What U Wanna Do with Warren G. (I'm not counting the 213 album, but he didn't kill it on many tracks either)

Nate Dogg has fallen off like a motherfucker.

I definitely agree... he ain't up to par as he once was. Just like his DPG family members, he's going downhill.

First off, I think nate dogg killed the 213 album.  Second, I think nate just sounds better over west coast sounds as opposed to his collabs with the east coast artits.  They dont really know how to really utilize nate in my opinion.  They use em the same way every time.  Plus, he's just over conentrated in the rap game right now.  Every body wants to realease a single with nate on the hook.  It gets kinda played the fuck out

No i think Nate Dogg is doin it like no other, he's still one of the best in my opinion, and yeah its true he is doin too many guest appearances, but he is in high demand, i just think he needs to lay low for a while and really take his time on coming out with some lyrically and vocally sounding rhymes. he is still the shit, just not like he used to be.

also Mazuip I don't know what your talkin about, Nate kills "Thugs Get Lonely Too", he sounds hella laid back on there...

Sorry, but you're wrong.  He came through on both Em's and Lil Jon's album.   Didn't really like that hook on Tupac's track, but hey you can't get it right every time.

I agree.

He's been recyling old melodies and tones for the last 2 years. He ain't innovative no more. He sounded boring in most 213 tracks. The 2 lines I enjoyed more from Nate in the 213 album were when he says "Nobooooooody does it betteeeeeer" and  "IIIIIIIIIII can't be faded I'm a nigga from the motherfucking streets". And that says it all.

Hell nah.

Jadakiss feat. Nate Dogg - Time's Up
Banks feat. 50 Cent, Eminem & Nate Dogg - Warrior pt.2
Banks feat. Nate Dogg - Til the end
Guerilla Black feat. Nate Dogg - What we gonna do
Fabolous feat. Paul Cain & Nate Dogg - Po Po
Eminem feat. 50 Cent & Nate Dogg - Never Enough
2Pac feat. Nate Dogg - Thugs get lonely too

He killed all of these..
I thought he was about to fall off after the horrible 213 album, but he proved that wrong...

Damn. I definitely don't think he has fallen off. I can't remember hearin a Nate hook that I wasn't feelin. I was bumpin the Lil Jon one today and I was just like damn this nigga never stops droppin classic hooks and verses. So seein this thread has me like "wow....really?????" I think he ripped 213, Lil Jon, came coo on Fab and Jada's shit, and don't think he's anywhere near fallin off. He won't fall off until his voice sounds fucked up.

That's exactly right.

Most people release albums to keep their name in the game, which makes them a couple million. Nate Dogg, however, can't seem to release a solo to save his life. He doesn't make his money that way. Since hooks obviously don't pay as well as dropping a multi-platinum album, he has to do a lot of them. I do believe he is not as good as he was, but as westkoastanostra pointed out, he has been in the game for 10+ years.

Nate ain't really fell off, homie just oversaturated when it comes to guest spots, 'cause this is a business, and when peeps hear that Nate Dogg is on a track by so-and-so no matter how shitty the content is lyrically, it goes off the shelves immediately, at the end of the day to the average C.E.O. it's all about the Benjamins ;D

i dont think he has fell off, he sounded hot on encore track and 213 album, so, nah, he just makes damn many guest appearances, but hey he's just makin cash for bad days.

nate was always great on g-funk-beats,
he was saving tracks, that wasnt that great but at least with a little funky touch

but that new tupac track, and em's album... the beats arent made for him - i guess its very hard to kill those songs
the beats suck!

its going in a whole 'nother direction than g-funk, and i guess thats his problem...
and thats also why i doesnt like that shyt

I think Nate Dogg might actually be one of the most succesful of the West. In the great westcoast depression (so to speak) he is the only one to consistently appear on albums and singles everywhere (eventhough Snoop was definately nr. 2 last and this year)

He might be somewhat overused but I think it will be a very long time before the mainstream doesn't appreciate him anymore...I bet he'll still be singing hooks when he's 50.

Natez doin good 4 himself. He got ripped off over at DeathRow now he's makin real paper. I think Nate should just stick to doing hooks cuz most of his solo's suck. Nate Dogg is as commercial as it gets nowadays, almost every major artist has 1 song with Nate Dogg on the hook. Yet the poor guy has never had solo success.

The guy can't put out a good solo no more so how else is he gonna get that paper? I ain't mad at him, he still brings an element to music no one else can.
