From what I'm watching, they are a good team, great scorers, but their defense sometimes lacks, and they are not as well functioning as a unit. Kind of what I expected from them at first. As the year progresses, I expect them to do better and make the playoffs. If they are over .500 and are not yet gelled together, then they will do great once they do get used to each other. Prediction, at least 2nd round of the playoffs.

we are watching the same team, we just word it different. Dogg, I see it like this, right now, they are over .500, and they are not playing the best basketball they can. They are missing team chemistry, which is to be expected considering only 2 starters return from last year, and only one has been playing. I knew they'd be good, and they will be fine once they get used to being teammates. A lot of what I'm seeing is players getting the ball when they don't expect it.
Now as for the Kings being title contenders, once they lost Vlade, that went out the window. Their time has past. Still a great team, but you over state the Kings. They will be in the playoffs, they'll be good, but get past the Spurs or the T-Wolves, I doubt it. The Lakers are not at their best and they struggled to beat them. I don't see the Kings in the finals.

Doesn't matter...That Sacramento team had trouble beating LA...Given the fact that Sac is ranked way higher than LA, Sac shoulda' blown the Lakers out...But it's not happening this year...Lakers are gunna surprise ya'll, especially in the playoffs...PeACe

as much as i hate sayin it bein a Kings fan and all...i wouldnt count the Lakers out. Like its been said they are a youg team and its very early in the season. Dot get me wrong if they fall flat on thier face ill be the first one to laugh and smile the widest ;D...but as for now im keepin my mouth shut.

Spurs, Mavs, Kings, Wolves definitely make the playoffs.

for these teams: Denver, Lakers, Clippers, Portland, Utah & Houston.

Yeah Clippers are on the rise for sure, ive watched every raptors game this year and the clippers were the 2nd best looking team outta like 11 teams they faced, there REALLY athletic, and they take it to the rim and get to the foul line a hell of alot...

LOL...the game would not have been over in the 3rd quarter, Miami has been struggling to beat teams...games have come down to the wire, anyway the season just started.....14 games in and you're already talking about the playoffs....Lakers are a brand new team, have injuries, haven't played up to their potential yet.... ::)

That's one game buddy, Im talkin about the team as a whole and how they generally play, teams can have good and bad games, and that was a bad game. It's not like I took a jab at your lakers or somethin so chill clown ::)

i like this team a lot better. games last year all seemed the same. hmmm... the lakers are taking the ball down the court, what are they going to do? dump it to shaq, kick it back out, dump it back into shaq, shaq shoots a turn around hook shot. you can only take so much of that before you turn the game off. this year you never know what they're going to do next. they may not be as dependable but at least they're a little more exciting to watch.

LOL don't make excuses homie, Utah gave New Orleans and Chicago there first wins, and they didnt look great when i watched the raptors beat them too, lol lakers shouldn't lose to the bullls and that's the end of it. no Shaq no lakers.

How is the Lakers losing to the Bulls an issuse. Good teams lose to bad teams every year, that's not a worry for me. Lakers are not going to be as good as last year, or in the past 5 years, that's not an issue for me. Frankly, I still support the Lakers, always have, even after Magic Johnson retired the first time with HIV and the Lakers sucked really really bad for the next few years. I was rooting for them when Cedric Cebollos took off on a boat trip, Nick Van Exel pushed a ref, Shaq had Eddie Jones traded (my favorite Laker player of the 90's), Kobe 4 air balls. So why and the hell would any true Laker fan leave the Lakers if they are a proven franchise. Here are facts of this season, the Lakers still look like a playoff team, they have some big wins, and they don't look to be playing like a team YET. All of this is looking really positive for the Lakers.

See, the difference with Jerry Buss is that he's smart and he knows how to keep a franchise from tumbling...He trades players while they still have some value left, unlike the Bulls did after Jackson & Jordan retired...Lets say Buss woulda' waited another year or 2 to trade Shaq, the Lakers wouldn't have gotten 3 quality players, such as Odom, Butler, & Grant...And then Gary Payton for Chris Mihm, Chucky Atkins, AND Jumain Jones...Things are going good and looks like they're heading for great...The future looks awesome for the Lakers with what Buss picked up this summer...PeACe
