Whats up y'all ? New here on the board.
Just out of curiosity i want to know if anybody listens to New Zealand Hip Hop around here. Auckland boasts the biggest Polynesian population in any city around the world so it's no surprise all the rap artists down there are of Polynesian descent such as Maori, Tongan,Cook Islands, and Samoan. The biggest names in NZ Hip Hop are all Samoan such as King Kapisi, Mareko, Scribe, and Tha Feestyle. Their style is similar to New Youk than anything. Biggest label is Dawnraid Entertainment and the Upper Hut Posse is the first ever Rap Group from south of the equator. They are like the Maori Public Enemy. Let me know your thoughts Fellas!

I've heard some freestyles from Lil' Samoan before. He's really tight.

I love Che Fu. He mixes soul/R&B/hiphop/reggae and makes it sound dope. He's got a great voice. I feel more his soul tracks than the hiphop cuts, but it's still tight.

To Mauzip, Smooth, Suffice....Thanks for the love. I feel welcomed here on dubcc already.
But i seriously think some artists around the world including New Zealand are 100% better than the ones you hear on your everyday radio, don't you think? BTW, Che Fu is a legend in New Zealand Hip Hop.

Yo im from NZ but i dont really like the stuff coming out now. I really dont like Scribe. I'd rather listen to Trinity Roots, Fat Fredy's drop, Katchafire, Herbs, shit like that. I do like the older stuff like UHP, King kapisi, Che fu.
