After all the shuffling Aftermath has gone through in the past few years, the hype of Truth, Hittman and Rakim and their failed projects, it seems that Dre has settled down and really established an realistic and stable roster. Before he had like 15 acts, no one knew for sure who was on Aftermath, he had Shaunta, Joe Beast their was speculation of Cube and such. Now it seems that the current roster of Eminem, 50, Game, Stat Quo, Antonio, Busta and Eve is here to stay. What is good about this roster is that Em, Busta, 50 and Eve don't have to be right under Dre's wing. Dre can come in and produce a few joints (like the first single) while overseeing the project, mainly just letting these rappers take control because they can. Dre can avert most of his attention to The Game, Stat Quo and Antonio and make sure they succeed with his help.
While watchin Dre, 50 and Game on MTV last night it was apparent Aftermath might be taking over again next year (like they did in 2000) with Em, Game, 50, Eve, Busta and hoepfully Detox. Maybe in 2006 we can have an Aftermath/Shady/G Unit tour bigger than the magnitude of UP IN SMOKE in 2000.

bigger than up in smoke? nah no way. no rap concert will ever be bigger than up in smoke.

^^^^
True. And it's sad too, 'cause I DIDN'T GET TO GO!!!! :'(

Thanks for the interview link Murrow.
It wouldn't take much for Aftermath to run the year, providing they get the product out there. As long as they hit the release dates there's enough hype around any G-Unit / Shady release to blow it up (and I know you shouldn't judge an album by it's cover but I'm feeling the deluxe editions they're putting out).
To be honest it's all on Game in January. I think if he fucks it up people will lose faith in Aftermath. If he hits, it bodes really well for the rest of 05.

i plan to sleep on mostly everything from them as I usually do cause sleep is good when it involves the eastcoast
-
what happened to the shit that Dre was supposed to be doing with Governor?
-
damn.. i gotta get that up in smoke dvd, i only saw small clips from it
-
I doubt Dre will start over with Detox but I doubt we will see it in 2005, if we do I don't think we will see Eve and Busta both droppin. I think most likley Dre will drop in early 2006, cause then it would be 7 years apart from 2001, which was 7 years apart from the original Chronic.

Hopefully Dre's ghostwriters and ghostproducers do a good job on the album
-
Yea, I can def see it happening next year. Too bad the haters won't like this at all ;D

Being such a big Aftermath fan, I figured you'd be smarter than this. You got to learn your history. Ain't no way, that Dre is going to drop that many albums in one year. Come on, this Dre we are talking about. The same guy that spent a whole year just putting out a "Zoom" track for the Bullworth soundtrack. You got to be kidding. And if your expecting a Detox album, Ohhhh boy... you are dreaming. It takes Dre an average of 8 years to do an album, at that rate, he'll drop something in 2,008.. so be on the lookout for that.
And mark my words, Everyone remember I said this, ain't no way Dre will ever release Busta and Eve on Aftermath Records.[/i] They will have the same fate as Helter Skelter, Dre making black rock and roll, The "Please Here My Demo Tape" movie, King T, that woman from the group Envogue, Rakim, NWA (the reunion), Hittman, that Timberland and Dre record, and all the countless other Dre projects that never got past the red tape. Why does this happen? I don't know, ask Dre, maybe he's a perfectionist. Maybe he's just lazy, I don't know.

i dont know about Eve, but i think the Busta record will drop...

I just feel that after seeing Dre on MTV, after what happened to him at the Vibe Awards, that this is fueling Dre to get artists out, maybe a little quicker. Dre is now a top of an unstoppable triangle in Aftermath-Shady-G Unit and I think Eminem and 50 can easily hold their own. If you look at Dre's history, he comes in waves, and when he comes he comes big. I feel that either 2005 or 2006 we will see Dre and The Math come back like he did with 2001.

The reason Dr Dre is taking so long to make this piece of shit is because he cant find any good producers to work with, all the decent ghost producers have stopped working with dre.
Like eazy e once said
"mothafuck dre mothafuck snoop mothafuck deathrow"

Whats up with young Buck?
-
I just remembered why Dre ever doesn't drop many albums..... and he's said this before himself... he feels he doesn't have nothing to prove "I don't have to prove shit/ I do this cause I want to not to stay in the game"..... those were his lines in "Hell-Low". It's kind of a hobby for him, and if it's dope enough, he'll put it out, but he ain't gonna stress about it, or force anything.

Game has the honor to start '05 off with The Documentary...if that album does well, I think Aftermath will definitely have a massive reputation. I just hope it will be one hell of a banging album, with not one weak track (I know I ask for much, but hey...all I care about is quality music. But the fact that Dre is behind this album, is a positive point).
