Title: HELP WITH COMPUTER!!!

Since last night, my computer screen has little random patches of colour and white dots all over. What is wrong and how can I fix it? It's driving me nuts!

borrow one first to be sure.. even an old ass one..

Maybe you should borrow one first just to be sure. You could even use an old ass monitor.

Well, crazy thing happened. I was tired of dealing with it so I turned it off. Then I turned it back on a half hour later, and it said "Detected new hardware" then installed something, then restarted and now its fine.  ???

Damnit computers confuse me.
