Would they include anf of Snoop's group albums like Tha Eastsidaz, 213 or the Allstars cd to those numbers? Or is it strictly solo album sales?

probably included those, 1st Eastsidaz went platinum, second went gold, 213 hasn't even gone gold...
-
not surprising considering the 27 post death album that have been released by Pac...

The Pac numbers are way off because if u look at the Guiness Book Of World Records it has 2pac listed at the Best Selling Rapper of All Time and it says that he has sold over 36.5 million in the United States Alone, So i dont' see anyone ever beating that number, not even eminem.
-
i saw that show ages ago its all bout how much rappers spend and wat they really earn that woz done ages ago so some people mite of moved up the list
-
26.5 million for Pac?? More like 40-45 million. All Eyez On Me and Greatest Hits alone sold almost 10 million each, so thats 20 million right there with just those two albums.
No one (in rap) will catch Pac in sales, not even Eminem. Pac has too big of a lead, and the fact he keeps releasing albums will keep him as the best selling hip hop artist ever.

Well, if you inflate his numbers to make him look better it'll be impossible for Eminem to catch him. The fact is, by the end of 2005, Eminem with his 4 albums will have sold more copies of his albums than 2Pac.
(going by U.S. sales figures)

No he won't not even close because those numbers posted above are not right, because liek i said in my earlier post, it has 2pac listed as the Best Selling Rap Artist Of All Time in the 2003 Guiness Book Of World Records and it says that he has sold more than 36.5 million in the US ALONE, so as for inflating the numbers, there is no need for that because pac's ACTUAL numbers speak for themselves and unless em releases another 3 albums that all go diamond which i highly doubt than he will never catch pac.
-
^ That's because guinness counted each double disc album as 2 cds sold. That's the way it should be anyway.
-
Well, a double CD is still just one album.
2Pacalypse Now = 500k - 1 million
Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. = 1 - 2 million
Me Against The World = 2 - 3 million
All Eyez On Me = 4.5 - 5 million
The Don Kiluminati (The 7 Day Theory) = 4 - 5 million
R U Still Down = 4 - 5 million
Greatest Hits = 4.5 - 5 million
Until The End Of Time = 3 - 4 million
Better Dayz = 2 - 3 million
8 albums plus a greatest hits = 25.5 million atleast...33 million at the most
The Slim Shady LP = 4 -5 million
The Marshal Mathers LP = 9 - 10 million
The Eminem Show = 8 - 9 million
3 albums = 21 million atleast...24 at the most
Numbers based on information from riaa.org
Now can anyone actually really think that Eminem has no chance of catching 2Pac? Just look at the averages, Eminem sells 7 million a CD and 2Pac sells about 3 million.
-
Double albums count as twice the sales. So if Eminem puts out a double album he'll most likely get 14 million in sales or so which should be enough to pass 2Pac. If he puts out 5 double albums like 2Pac did, then forget it about... it won't even be close.

Yea but will he put out that much double albums? will he even put out one? we can't speculate liek that and it makes sense to count a double album as 2 cd's especially before because the prices were so much higher, but nowadays i dont' think double cd's should be counted as 2 because the prices are so close to single disc prices it jsut is rediculous, so yea pac wil remain the best selling rapper for a while i think.
-
A double disk album counts as 2 albums on soundcan.

I don't know if you just copy and pasted but you have singles there and a soundtrack. Also, 9 times platinium for a double CD doesn't equal 9 million copies sold.
Just refer to my post a few spots up. That's correct.
-
"All Eyez On Me" is still only at 5 mill after all these years? Its been sayin that for a minute, I woulda thought it woulda been up. Especially after the re-release of it.
-
so you don't count singles, are you serious, and yes obviously the 9x really means 4.5 mill...i'm prettu sure you can count that soundtrack it's all pac shit :nahnah:
peace.
-
Singles shouldn't count. But if you really wanted to count them, then why didn't you include any of Eminem's singles?
-

because of the simple fact that none of them have gone gold or platinum. Nobody buys eminem singles, he hasn't had any #1 songs on billboard, people jsut rush out to buy his albums not his singles.
-
thank you ^^ if they were certified i would've posted them, peace.
-
fuck counting double albums twice. that kind of system is straight rubbish. Em owns Pac. Encore is not even counted, and he's going to release at least 3 additional albums.
Just face it.
-
Eminem doesn't deserve to be in the top 10 best selling rappers of all time. And why does it matter how much albums u sell, its about the quality not the quantity.

Exactly! and we all know the quality of 2pac songs shits over the quality of the shit em be releasing, just face it.
-
^that's a matter of taste.. Technically, Em owns Pac. His lyrics are more complex and his beats are better.
-
^that's a matter of taste.. Technically, Em owns Pac. His lyrics are more complex and his beats are better.
I think em's beats are repetitive and boring, but liek you said it's all a matter of taste so i ain't gonan hate, but i will break it down as i see it:
lyrically - eminem
flow/delivery - 2pac
subject matter - 2pac
charisma - 2pac
voice - 2pac
really lyrics is the only category i'd give to eminem, and when i mean lyrically i'm jsut saying technically em is a better lyricisty but to me 2pacs lyrics are much better because they have meaning and they are deep lyrics that i can relate to, so theres my view on this.

Em's flow shits all over Pac's...I'm a fan of both tho, Pac is the GOAT mos defintitely but Eminem's flow is just bananas, I think he's concentrated too much on that and his lyrics have gone to hell, Pac had the better voice and charisma and since Em's lyrics are garbage now I would lyrically give the edge to Pac since I never heard Pac come wack lyrically on any song...
-

Im not talking about Em's own beats. I mean, even if they suck, they are still better then Pac's own beats since Pac didnt have any own beats lol. What I was saying is the beats Em uses for his Songs are usually better than Pacs. Johnny J might be cool and all but hey DrDre is a pure legend.
When it comes to delivery and charisma, Pac can't be touched by any Rapper whatsoever, obviously. Subject matter is a matter of pure taste, however Encore obviously sucked when it comes to the topics, but in general Em can write about deeper themes too.
-

Pac produced sometracks on The 7 Day Theory, Made Niggaz and Runnin' On E too. His beats were so fuckin' tight. EVERY of 'Pac's beats shits on a Eminem production.
-
hmm not including encore.... when encore is gonna count he will make it to 1st...
-
lol@ comparing eminem to 2pac... 2pac shits all over eminem..
2pac "hail mary" >>> eminem's career
-
2pac produced alot of the "7 Day Theory" and "Thug Life: Volume 1" albums and his producing skills kills ems anyday.
-
lol@ comparing eminem to 2pac... 2pac shits all over eminem..
2pac "hail mary" >>> eminem's career
true story. Pac wipes the floor with Em in every category possible. Em himself will admit this....he aint even worthy of being mentioned in the same SENTENCE as Pac.
-
Eminem's sales peak ended. He sold a lot of MMLP and Eminem Show, but Encore is not making the noice as before, and honestly, I think Eminem has so much respect for 'Pac he'd help 'Pac stay the highest selling artist of rap. Proof, producing Loyal to the Game for free.
Now, for 2Pac vs. Eminem, 2Pac right after getting out of jail and joining Death Row was by far the greatest year any rapper ever had. He released a widely regarded classic (I personally give it 4.5) and released an undoubted classic (Makaveli). Also he made 2 movies and recorded coutless unreleased songs and was in the highest profile beef in the history of rap music. Even if neither person was shot, both would be remembered for their beef. Eminem, or any other rapper has ever had a year like 2Pac '96. And before that, he only had one classic album (Me Against the World), two very good albums, some songs that will live in hip-hop eternity, (Dear Mama, Keep Your Head Up, So Many Tears, Pour Out A Little Liquor, Pain) and died as he was just entering the peek of his career. To say Eminem is better than 'Pac is laughable.
Flow - 2Pac
Lyricals - Eminem
Content - 2Pac
Charisma - 2pac
Ability to Make Classic Songs - 2Pac
You can say whatever about 'Pac dying boosting his sales, if Eminem wasn't white he wouldn't even sell half of what he did. If you don't believe me, ask him. Bottomline, 2Pac is the highest selling artist ever, when they had the BET countdown of the top 50, they talked about everyone, but in the end 2Pac was number 1 and they ended by simply saying, in the end lyrics beat is the main factor, number 1 2Pac. R.I.P. to the GOAT. His record will be broken someday, but nothing will ever take away his the greatest rapper of all time.
-
LOL @ Lyrics are more complex.
Busdriver's lyrics are more complex than Eminem. So you're saying: Busdriver >> Eminem >> Tupac? Aight then!
-
