i've watched quite a lot of stand-up in the last month..
from the US i've watched 3 Richard Pryor ones.. and just watched Eddie Murphy 'Delirious' that i'm amazed i remember quite a lot of.. and can't have seen that for over 10 years..
they're both the shit... eddie murphy is like a reincarnation.. and i'm surprised how between the two eddie (apart from the dodgy clothes) seems quite up to date... whereas altho he was groundbreaking at the time richard pryor does seem a lil out of date.. but hell his shit was from the 70s..
Uk stuff i've seen lately is the Peter Kay blackpool tower show which i borrowd from my sis.. and that bolton albert hall one that was on tv last month .. the blackpool show didn't live up to my expectations.. seemd to run short.. and wasnt amazingly funny.. i think the other was better..
another UK one i saw recently is the Bill Bailey one.. really good.. and especially as he plays a bunch of keyboards n shit (he was/is a prog rock musician or something) ... also he's from the south west of england so a lot of it I can relate to.. and he mentions the now long gone cider company from here (Taunton Cider) that used to be famous back 10/20 years ago... we used to be getting drunk on that shit as kids.. now the huge factory sits empty...
has Lee Evans done any more standup vids lately? i remember two i think?
who are ya'll into?

Download some of his comedy. He's very controversial too.

Some stand up comedians who have earned the right to be called my favourites:
Mitch Hedberg - may he rest in peace... Dude was funny as hell, amazing one liners and querky stage personality!
Dave Chappelle - Obviously... Both Killing Them Softly and For What It's Worth are classic to me... If you'd take the best parts from both shows, you'd have the funniest stand up show ever!
George Carlin - Especially the shows he did in his last living years... Came with that shock effect, but he also had the ability to really make you think. Some of his bits on religion are epic.
Eddie Murphy - Delirious & Raw... 'nuff said. Heard some rumours about him returning to stand up after BHC4?
Dennis Leary - Say what you want about him ripping off Bill Hicks' act, but I sincerely mean that Leary is/was a better stand up act. So maybe the jokes came from Hicks, but the complete package was Leary's. No Cure For Cancer is absolutely amazing IMO.
Jimmy Carr - This dude is seriously fucked up... And funny as hell!
Jim Gaffigan - The whitest guy alive... Great stand up persona...
Stephen Lynch - Really funny, and a decent musician... Definately funniest the first time tho.
Flight Of The Conchords - Their HBO-special is classic... Need more live materiale from them tho.
-

Thank you,, he is the greatest comedian of all time,,
I was reading tru this and you the only one mention him, its a shame,,,
Mitch Hedberg(R.I.P) G.O.A.T

Can't believe I 4got George Wallace. Denis Leary. Wanda Sykes, but I don't know now. Yes her being married to a woman had something to do with & her current hairdo :puke: And sometimes the funniest comedians ever....THE OAKLAND RAIDERS :D The game vs. the Giants was hilarious.
-
maybe i'm biased but the comedians that came on "que locos" were the funnier than anyone on def comedy jam, or comic view hands down
que locos was the shit...

I definitely have to say George Lopez is the best stand up out right now. Maybe because i'm mexican and everything he says me and my friends can relate to but he's definitely the best in my opinion
then i'd say my next favorite is Eddie Griffin, that dude is always on point
then i've always like George Carlin and Bill Maur those are two really funny fucked up dudes
-

I have to agree, George Lopez is a funny muthaphukka. Other than Lopez, who is so far number 1 it ain't funny, I'd go Chris Rock, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Robin Williams and Daz Dillinger.
