I've became an old school hip-hop head because I really haven't been into any new artists since the 90's. But because of the Game's affiliation with the West Coast, Dre, Aftermath, Compton, and all that, an old school head like myself had to go and cop the album, and it's bangin, the production is the illest production since "2001" and I think Dre gave away most of his best Detox tracks to the Game. All the guest producers hooked him up, and he held his own with the lyrics, as evidenced by his cut with Eminem.
So anyway, one of my friends who's a big hip-hop head, called me and told me to meet him up at his job around 4:00pm and we went to Best Buy to pick up the album, it was right in the front with the major releases. My friend got the DVD version I just copped the regular disc, they had a large stock of his records, but it was selling pretty fast, this is in the midwest, it's getting very little radio play out here, but people I know who love hip-hop all picked it up today. That's all for my story.

not out here.... not coming out till 24th

it was selling nicely i was in best buy and they keep the "collectors edition" with the other rap cds so i went back there and they had a shitload of them. i picked up the se and went to check out. there was 6 other people in line with the cd. and this was at only 12:10 on my lunch break. wait till all them kids get outof school. its goin put up mad numbers

My story goes as follows:
Last night I went to bed at 2.50am which was too late since I had to get up at 7.30. So when I woke up I could barely see the light. It was really messed up cause my system isn't used to this type of shit. Anyway, at 9.35 I went to the bus station. At 9.40 the bus left and at 9.42 I arrived at the train station. There I had to wait 8 minutes since the train would leave at 9.50. When I arrived at school at 10.25 me and my group mates prepared for our presentation. At 11.30 we had our presentation and it went really well, I think. Hopefully I'll have my grade by Friday.
At 1.30pm everyone was done doing their presentations, so outside we smoked a cigaret and chilled for a little bit. I went home with the train that left at 2.18, so I came home around 3 o'clock.
To make a long story short, I didn't buy Game's album and I'm not planning to either.

I couldnt get a ride to go grab it today....Hows the DVD?

I can't find the collectors edition nowhere. I went to 3 different locations, Target, Best Buy and Sam Goody. They got plenty of copies of the normal edition, but no collectors.
Best Buy really pissed me off. I saw the last copy of the Compton Collectors, and this dude that looked like 7even got to it before me. So I didnt get a copy, yet, I'ma search later. I go back to my car and I hear all these muthafuckaz blastin' it in there ride. It's all good tho, I heard it 2 weeks before em :)

and this dude that looked like 7even got to it before me

Netherlands / Deventer:
Well, after all, what I first heard was true... They first told me it'd be available on the 14th, but then they told me it'd be about a week late, available on the 20th or 21st of Jan. And there it is... They'll FINALLY have things in stock tomorrow for God's sake. And yet I have no clue whether they'll have collectors editions or default cd's, but it SHOULD be up and running by tomorrow. From what I've heard from the record store owners, they're shipping it big time because they're expecting Game to blow up quite big, even in Holland with no promotion after all. It's somehow weird though, the biggest record store "Free Record Shop" can't tell me shit about the cd, it's not even on their list of release dates. Thank God there's some smaller record stores who do know what the fuck's going on.
-
They told me it will be releases in a couple of days

From downtown Boston:
It's colder here than in NYC... trust me.
At lunch at about Noon or so, I went out in the 8 degree weather... yes I said EIGHT DEGREES... and picked up my copy (Compton Collectors Edition) at the record store (called Strawberries). They've had a big ass poster of the CD cover and release date on their window for about a week now. It's the only poster on their window and it's big... you can't miss it. I walk in and it's the first CD you see on the rack. The two versions side by side. I pick it up and wait in line. I'm the 3rd one in line. The two in front of me both purchased the CD. So three sales while I was in the store.
About an hour later, I had to run to the mall to buy an iPod. I stop by the Best Buy and they have a shit load of copies and it was front and center as you walk into the store.
Later in the day I had to run to the Verizon Wirless store down the street to pick up a cell phone and while I'm waiting, I'm reading the booklet. As I go to pay, I had to put down the booklet on the counter, and dude immediately says, "that's a hot record right there."
So I'm sure The Documentary is doing big numbers.
I really like the album... I think it's tight. The lyrics are straight westcoast. The West is repped to the fullest. Big ass "COMPTON" across the back cover! The beats are nice! The album is tight... period.
Peace 8)

So it could come in at 700-800 finally.
-
i dint buy 1, nor am i planning on it, but how we do is pretty big in Philly..
also, like jan 14th or 15, i was chillin at dunkin donuts, and some black guy rolled up blastin envy me, and i was like that game album is dope, did u get it bootleged, and he was like naa, and he had bought it in the stores, so i was guessing they released it before the relase date like most of the other aftermath releases...
