i dont know if its been talked abiout yet, but this movie was tight i thought. brad pitt was a good actor and the plot was good. achillies? is a beast...i just liked the thought of how he was arguablely the best warrior and seeing how it went down then, and him vs. hector and all that shit was tight. good movie imo

i didn't like it.
me neither.

It was okay. Only the action scenes stick out in my memory though.
-
yeah man i thought the movie was sick too. brad pitt did a good job in it and the fight scenes were tight

i watched the movie a few days ago and found it to be very entertaining. wolfang peterson managed to tell one of the
most famous greek myths in an appropriate and audience friendly way.

exactly. That's what sucks about it

i thought it was a good ovie, good cast as well, way better than alexander

it sucks when hollywood bastardises history..
people will see this movie and think it's how it all went down, not realizing that Patroclus was Achillies LOVER.. not cousin..
and it sucks that because of the majority movie-goers reactions to homosexuality in film, you get a historically inaccurate portrayal of events..
that's why you gotta give it up for the director of Alexander.. keeping with the real-life greek mythology and not making him heterosexual so that the movie is "audience friendly"
i haven't seen Alexander, and have heard numerous accounts that it's shit... but (that's more a casting issue i believe) .. but kudos to the director for not thinking all about box office takings..
all that being said.. i thought troy was fairly average. it's an epic tale, but it didn't come across as an epic on-screen. Eric Bana was clearly the best performance.. Brad pitt did well (although i wish the media hype would've given the whole "brad's beefy body" bullshit a rest..) Orlando bloom was fucking unbearable..
but yeah.. i just felt unfulfilled coming out of the theatre.. it was lacking something..

Great movie. I was worried when I saw that it was almost 3 hours long, but it goes by so fast. The director did a good job of picking up the pace of the movie everytime it was about to start dragging. Definitely a recommendation for anyone who hasn't seen it.
