Title: Top 5 Diss Tracks of all time!!
Post by: Spicemuthafuc*in1 on January 28, 2005, 01:11:26 PM
Here is my list, im curios to see other peoples opinion's!!

1.Dj Quik: Dollars and Sense -  to me this song is on a whole other level as far as a diss track then every other one. first off the beat quik made was off the charts and his flow was so onpoint it was scary.  it was one of the longest diss songs ever almost 6 minutes of quik pissing on mc8 (i am also a big fan of mc8)  the part where he spells out mc8's name and says you left out the g cause the g aint in you was pure genius.

2. 2Pac and Outlaws: Hit em up- there was so much emotion on this track from pac, and the rest of the outlaws delivered great as well on this diss intented for the bad boy family.

3. Canibus: 2nd round ko - awesome diss track, even though cool j came at canibus hard he got eaten alive.  the flow was great on this track but i thought the lyrics really standed out as sometimes on beef tracks they dont.  his reference to the fact that he cant make as much money as cool j but ll cant rap like he can was great. canibus showed thats its not about record sales but its all about skillz.

4. X-Raided: who is ya'll - you guys mught be surprised to see this song on the list but this diss towards brotha lynch is unreal. x's flow is mind boggling on this track and plus its over a amazing beat.

5. Ice Cube: No Vaseline - i dont even have to say anything about this one because most people think its the best ever

honorable mention

Kurupt- callin out names (ja rule, dmx diss)
Yumouth,C-Bo,Domination,Bangemsmurf- he aint a thug  (50 cent diss)

1. Ice Cube - No Vaseline
The hardest and most fucked up diss track ever recorded.

2. BDP - The Bridge is Over
This set the blueprint for diss tracks and how they're made.

3. DJ Quik - Dollars and Sense
MC Eiht never recovered from that track. That song was a great example of how someone gets clowned.

4. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg - Dre Day
They dissed everyone on this track, Eazy E, Ice Cube, Luke and Tim Dog. The video really adds to it.

5. Eazy, BG Knocc Out and Gangsta Dresta - Real Muthafuckin G's
Eazy and crew got them back hard. Again, tight video.

I'm a fan of "The Sauce" by Eminem- although I guess a great diss track should be aimed at someone who has some ability to fight back.

Eminem spitting rhymes against benzino? Game over

Quote
So sgt. pepper took you by surprise
You better see right through that mother’s eyes
Those freaks was right when they said you was dead
The one mistake you made was in your head
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

You live with straights who tell you you was king
Jump when your momma tell you anything
The only thing you done was yesterday
And since you’re gone you’re just another day
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

A pretty face may last a year or two
But pretty soon they’ll see what you can do
The sound you make is muzak to my ears
You must have learned something in all those years
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

its a diss to Paul McCartney

Impact:  Hit em up - This song probably led to the death of 2pac, Biggie, and Kadafi, and changed the future of Hip-Hop.

Skill: Dollaz & Sense -  The song was just to clever.

In no particular order:

Ice Cube - No Vaseline: Cube ripped my boys from NWA a new asshole. I like diss songs that spit facts as opposed to made up bullshit. Everything Cube was saying was the truth.

DJ Quik - Dollaz and Sense: Quik spit alot of facts in this song and also got in some clowns. Quik is creative when it comes to disses and this one is most def a classic. MC Eiht hasn't been the same since

Eazy E - Real Muthaphuckin Gz: Everything about this song was tight. From the beat to BG Knockout and Dresta gettin their flow on. Dre is my boy, but Eazy and them got his ass. lol

Dr Dre & Snoop - Dre Day: Even though I think Eazy won with Real Gz, this is still a classic song. Everytime I hear this song, it gets me hyped up. Dre set the beef off with this tight ass song, and Eazy came back and one upped him. Both are West Coast classics

IMO no other songs come close to these. This was back at a time when beefs were real and not just set up to make money off of. Every single one of these beefs were personal and it showed.

number one would have to be a tie for me of hit em up and the sauce by Eminem and i like real muthafuckin g's by eazy and dresta i can still sing the whole song with no beat that make s a song good( when you can remeber the words with no beats and it a diss so if you dont liek someone you just change the name and put there in it)  but i like the sauce it was hard.  also all the songs dising Ja Rule like Hail Mary keep talking (bonus song on D-12 World and bodygaurd)  look at the impact those did to that dumb shits career.
