Title: Post death row
Post by: italianguy on January 31, 2005, 03:48:47 AM
after leaving death row (or after being linked to death row) who do you think had the best career as an artist and a business man?
And the worst?

for me
the best:

- dr dre
- snoop
- daz (with his new album and his company)
- nate dogg

worst:

the realest
crooked I
kurupt
lady of rage

at one point and time I remember kurupts future looked good...he started his own lil camp and dropped his double cd...
was the first one who defected from deathrow to get back at dre, never got caught up in the deathrow vs dpg hype
was wearin armani dippin in rolls royces in his video...stayed tight with daz and helped develop the career of fred wreck...
then he made the decission to fuck with deathrow again and it all went down hill from there...kurupt would have to push a million copies just to vindicate himself and under deathrow I just cant see it .....

Dr.Dre (he created the next Death Row, so..)
Snoop (he fell the fuck off, but he's still selling millions, so.. he's right)
Nate Dogg (his voice will never fall off)
Kurupt (he had a dope double-album, and a classic album after he leave Death Row)
Daz (like i said in another post, he did a mistake not leaving the label in time. He's paying for it)
Tha Realest (who? c'mon..)
Crooked I (his career still gotta start)
Lady Of Rage (she did other things. But hopefully he's coming back with an album)

lol wassup foooo, you are too much stressed with your work, homie. Relax! Like somebody said, opinions are like assholes: everybody got 1. If people is calling Game's album a "classic", Streetz is a double-classic. Shit today i've read Dillinger & Young Gotti is a classic (from Nima, i think), so.. Anyway Kuruption is a very good album, imo. Expecially the West Coast cd. And no, i aint a muthafucka. Chill.. 8)

I'd say Snoop and Dre. But what I don't understand is last year Snoop was sayin in an interview that Dre is from the West Cpast - he should be tryin to get West Coast rappers out there....and how he ran off with East Coast rappers and isn't reppin the west coast....but didn't Snoop just sign with the Neptunes?

Dre just put out The Game.. he tried to put out King Tee before.. he's helped Snoop, Nate Dogg, Warren G, Xzibit and Knocturnal and DJ Quik get more recognition

Snoop has gone over to the neptunes.. he seems to keep his solo stuff following whatever is popular to keep him in the limelight, and to drop projects on Doggohuse/Doggystyle which -do- include west coast acts... 2 Eastsidaz's albums, the 'welcome to the house' compilation and Doggys Angels...

Streetz is a Mutha is a definite classic and space boogie was also a banger except for the single its over now...
Your right on the throwin around classic shit, but come on Streets is a mutha is CLASSIC CLASSIC CLASSIC CLASSIC CLASSIC
5 x classic

calm down yall...beauty is in the eye of the beholder...I think dillinger and young gotti IS a classic and also highly underrated...Its a very musical album thats been engineered/ mixed almost flawlessly just is dogg food in my opinion...streetz iz a mutha is also a very good album but I think it falls a littls short musically of being a classic...streetz to me is all about showcasing a lyrically rejuvinated , verbally aggressive
kurupt...even though I cant denigh the beats on streetz are also excellent... I feel that dilinger and young gotti often gets over looked because alot of dope shit came out around that time ...

what the fuck are you guys talking about everythink kurupt has ever touched has been dope. doggfood is one of the best albums ever and every other thing he released with dpg was great.

kuruption was a absolute classic and i have never understood why it gets dogged.  on the west coast mix there are so many classics cwalk,we can freak it,ask yoself a ?,ho's a housewife and thats just a few, plus the east coast cd is dope as fuck just listen to track #3 game and you will know why and the rest of the cd is good as well.

streetz is witrhout any question a classic album and personally its in my top 5 of all time. only 1 or 2 songs i dont like and thats just because everything else is so sick.

space boogie is his worst album and is still a classic. the hardest muthafuckas, on onsite, gangstas are classics and theres many more like the song with quik and butch.

listen this is the way i see it,
if you judge rappers on there celebrity, record sales and radio success than i would put snoop ahead of gotti.

but like me if you judge rappers purely on skillz and what they have released then to me kurupt is 100 times better than snoop, bcause everything from 94-2002 that gotti touched was dope and on the other side i think last meal was snoops last good album and thats being nice. snoop hasnt brought it hard since 1993, kurupt on the other hand is a different story.
