My homeboy just told me he talked to somebody from Wall Street, and he told him that they just shot a video this weekend for the track with Game and 50...meaning it IS hate it or love it.....fuck that, I "hate it" bein the next single. Makes it look like Game needs to ride 50's back to be successful, that's bullshit. But he did say they are about to do a video for Dreams.

ugh... I really liked the album, but "Dreams" came off as trying to be a bit more than what it was... tried to be deep but didn't really deliver a consisten theme. Its a decent song, but one of my least favorites of the album, and I don't really think its stands on its own. And 50 Cent again? That fucking blows. I'd take basically any other song off the album than those two for a next single.

They are using Game's Album as a platform to promote 50's LP, fucking disgusting. Put you on the Game / Higher / Special would have been waaaaaaay better choices for singles. Hate it or love it is the best song on the LP, but it is not the best single and it is also fucked up because most people will think now 50 made a collabo Album with some random dude or whatever lol.

This has got to be one of the most ridiculous things Interscope has done, as far as singles go. To be real, I was kinda uneasy with the thought of 50 Cent all over the Game's first official single, but overall, that was alright...it helped Game out and exposed the song to the mainstream. But this Hate It Or Love It business is nonsense. They aren't pushing Game, they're pushing 50. With The Massacre dropping soon, Game's chances of dropping another successful single are slim. Candy Shop will overshadow whatever Game puts out next, cuz the mainstream is whack like that. If these two start beefing, who do ya'll think Dr. Dre will favor?

Y'all aren't lookin at it the same way I am lookin at it.
Suga Foot...yeah, WE might not care, because we already have the album, and it doesn't mean much to us. But for those of us who want this album to sell as much as possible, this is not a good thing at all, havin 50 on both of Game's first singles, and bein on both songs more than Game, a month before 50's album is comin out. Many people are gonna see it like damn, Game must need 50 to sell, and I mean that just isn't how it's supposed to go. It's not like The Chronic where Dre had Snoop on first two major singles, because he was introducin Snoop, and Snoop was supposed to be a big part of the album. 50 is already established, and needs no promotion, especially through somebody who he was supposed to be helpin promote.
To Bez...of course most of us think it's a good song, but it has 50 on it, AGAIN, and that is a major thing about it that is gonna kill it for Game. Plus they are makin it a G-Unit family song, which is takin more focus off Game. Most people don't even feel this is one of the three strongest singles on there, and yeah most of us feel this is just a way to promote 50's album and take shine away from Game. 50 already has two singles in circulation, one in the chamber (Piggybank) and one that he "stole the show" on that's not even his song (How we do). Put you on the game is gettin the best response from everybody, especially in the clubs, and Higher is gettin the best response for strait up west coast fans. Overall, we all just feel this is a good song but horrible choice for single.

yeah I know what you're saying. I wish the best for Game too, but we're talking about professionals here. They have a marketing plan. People who make these descisions are professionals, they know whats gonna sell records and what isn't. Myabe 80% of people that bought the album are from age 18-25, and the younger kids haven't bought it yet, so they'll release this single to appeal to the younger kids. I dunno. I'm just not worried about it. He'll do well.

oh, and another good thing about Hate it or Love it, all the radio stations will play it. They didn't really play How we do on the radio a lot here, but he's still #1. Radio play means a lot.

Terrible choice. It seems like Game is to 50 what Mase was to Puffy, a fuckin' sidekick. I agree with R-Tistic, "Put You On Game" and
"Higher" have been getting the most praise but I don't understand why the label doesn't see that.

hate it or love it is a great single, pretty catchy I must say but i think 50 outshines game here, that verse is sick, but what we all trying to say is that we wanted a game solo single, not with 50, put you on the game & higher are the best choices i think

Why are you all hating on Higher for not being the next single? I thought there was a reason why they're not putting that out. It was something like the first track off the album that leaked... A single has to be fresh, Higher has been around for over 5 months (yes, it also appeared on for example Hot97's "Blazing Hiphop and R&B" discs in September. They can't come up with that anymore now, since half of the US already know the song.
Hate it or love it might as well be a good choice. The song is good, the radiostations will love it and it'll be more popular than How We Do. I think it might as well be quite a clever move to use 50 AGAIN to promote Game's album. The kids they'll have to aim at now for selling more records are all over 50's dick. The more they're thinking The Documentary is one great collabo between Game and 50, the more of these kids will go out and buy the album. Yes, they'll do it for 50, but it'll sell. After they've bumped the shit out of the album, they'll be aware of Game's talents too. That's how the shit goes down.
Don't hate on it, it's a good song and it'll probably be proven a good marketing move.

I remember they started playing "California Love" on the radio in the summer of 1995. They made it the first single for All Eyez On Me although it dropped the next February. If a song is hot, people are going to want to listen to it no matter what. And I guarantee most of the radio stations haven't played "Higher" in regular rotation other than the big two, Hot 97 and Power 106. A lot of people don't go on the internet and find songs like we do. They rely on radio and MTV/BET to get the new songs. Therefore "Higher" still would of made an impact.
I really don't care what the radio single would of been but I just wanted to see a video for "Higher" because I think it would of been on that whole "Still D.R.E." type vibe if they did a video.

Allright, you two are probably right... "Higher" might have been a good choice, but I don't think it would be as widely accepted by the mainstream as "Hate it or love it" will be. It's a typical song, you either hate it or love it and to some people it might first have to grow on them. That's a risky choice for a single, but don't worry, maybe Game will shoot a video to Higher in the near future.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing this "Hate it or love it" video. It could really be a dope thing if they've put as much effort into it as they did to "How We Do". Does anyone have any additional info on this new video?
