My favorite reaggea artist alltime is of course bob marley. Also black uhuru and supercat are on my list.
And my favorite dancehall artist is definetly sean paul and capelton.
Bob marley is a fuckin legend. To me hes one the biggest artist ever.

Reggae... I love Ky-mani Marley cause he's got that Marley voice, plus he can come correct rhyming too. As a band, I know I'm gon catch heat, but Big Mountain is the most musically rich reggae group I've heard. I think Steve is the most talented Marley right now, but I still love me some Ziggy!! Of course, legends like Beres Hammond, Toots, Freddie McGregor, Anthony B...
In dancehall I used to praise Shaggy. He was the shit, #1 toaster until 1999. He turned pop with the new millennium, damn! Beenie gets boring, Bounty keeps bringing the heat. Always liked Spragga Benz, Chucky Starr, Capleton. Jr Gong is the hottest one right now. Sean Paul is cool, but he's played out.
There's a couple tons I'm forgetting.

I like Beenie Man and Bounty Killer, and who ever else has a hit song lol. I never really got into Bob Marley.

You should be slapped for using dancehall and reggae in the same sentence.
-
Other than Bob i love Steel Pulse

I agree. It's not the same. But UB40 would be my choice. ;D

Why? I asked for you favorite dancehall and reaggea artis seperate. And if you read my post you could see i said i thought bob marley was the best reaggea artist and capelton best dancehall artist. I know the fuckin difference between reggea and dancehall.
-
i don't think you get my point though: raggae is/can be good, dancehall is garbage. period.

I hate Dancehall period, just can't get with it.
Reggae wise, Bob Marley, Desmond Decker, Jimmy Cliff, all the artists that were on the Trojan label were really dope, and more modern wish only really checked members of the Marley family, and Sizzla's pretty dope as well.

i like reggae and the old ska stuff that was pretty similar to reggae too. but to me reggae is kinda like background music or just shit to chill to, so i don't really focus on it and hence don't have too many particular favorites. of course bob marley is a legend, and all those artists like Cliff, Dekker, Max Romeo, Steel Pulse, etc. are great, but it'salmost always sound that just plays and provides a nice atmosphere, but nothing i pay attention to or that makes me go whoa. dancehall is something i never got into, the older i get the more it seems to actually get on my nerves...the sean paul () hype didn't have a good effect either....

Reggae wise it's definitely Bob Marley, I doubt you'll find me many that will disagree. As for dancehall, not really sure what is classified as such but I like Kevin Lyttle and his selft titled debut was nice. I can listen to the whole album front to back. I think they refer to his style as soca, from the south Caribbean. If I'm wrong, my fault, but if not then he's my pick.

T.O.K.
