Then why in nature do animals such as the cheetah, sacrifice their own lives, to save people from their family? Why do aligators carry turtles in their mouths back to water for safety? Why animals such as elephants refuse to abandon members of their herd that are born with deformities, even if it means sacrificing their own lives?
You can not prove that nature only acts out of self-interest. Nature does not follow the rule of survival of the fittest.

not with human intervention, fatboy.

i think the philosophy refers more to adaptation of entire species rather than the self-interest of any particular individuals, fatboy.

i dont think all animals are ruthless and selfish, i mean, they are doin shit wats best for them, but they can help a borther out, also, i think its more about reproducing and getting the bitch and not doing favors

Yea, for any questions read -Euthanasia-'s posts he did the sonning job already, no work for me left in here. Whatever species adjusts best survives, it is simple. Through evolution a certain species adjusts better and better through the years.

I asked if nature followed the "rule" of survival of the fittest. And the many examples of animals risking their own lives and killing themselves to save others definitely shows that nature is not following that "rule".

again, they do that to continue the species. the animal's only goal is to survive and reproduce

There's exceptions to any rule, no doubt. For the most part though it seems like survival of the fittest is dominant.

it is obvious that when it comes down to it it is the survival of the fittest... if a mum elephant has a deformed child she and her deformed child most likely will die.. their not the fittest... bad topic, absolute nonsense, no discussion for this topic.
i have developped hate for murakaman or wateva his nic is.
