Title: This Thread Really Has No Specific Topic
Post by: Twentytwofifty on February 13, 2005, 09:46:22 AM
Were there any good rips of The Horsemen Project and Royce Da 5'9"'s M.I.C.?  One or two songs on each one is fucked up and I can't find any good versions.

I haven't really commented on any of the new releases that came out this year.  So...

Pete Rock - Good, I'd say I enjoy this as much as Petestumentals.  Another quality release from the #1 Soul Brother.

The Geto Boys - Good, Nothing groundbreaking but solid nevertheless

Daz - Average, I've only listened to it twice and it seems better than his last album but still a far cry from the good old days.

Canibus (his mixtape) - ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, nothing new

The Game - Very good, I know he's an easy guy to hate cause he's popular now and he has a big mouth but I don't care, the album is bangin'

The Last Emperor (his mixtape) - A lot of old stuff that I've heard a hundred times but the new stuff is pretty good.  "Blackboard Jungle" is THE SHIT.  It's good for mixtape standards.

I don't see why everyone is bitching about The Game's "name dropping".  Who cares?  I noticed something else listening to his album, he said alot of verbs and adjectives too.  How annoying.

That Jean Grae bootleg Jeanius is such a waste of beats.  It's sad.  First off, she boring as hell, second, it won't even be released anyways.  Hopefully he lifts some of those for the next Little Brother album.

Nah, but Buckshot is supposed to release his LP produced by 9th Wonder this spring so maybe it's from that.

I just went over to the hiphopgame.com audio section and found a song with Buckshot, Smif N Wessun & Aaliyah, it's called "Night Riders (Remix)" produced by 9th Wonder.  Is that it?
I see there is a lot of stuff I missed there.  A Kool G Rap & Saigon track, a couple of Smif-N-Wessun tracks and more.

Is this the album that just dropped? I got Soul Survivor II and was disappointed overall. Is this new one from the same sessions? How does it compare?

It's an instrumental album called Surviving Elements.  They are supposed to be leftover beats from Soul Survivor 2.

i saw Pete Rock DJing at the Forum in London a few weeks back and he ended his set by saying "dont support the new album, dont buy it, download it, fuck BBE records!"
