Which has had the bigger impact on hiphop? Brooklyn invented, but Compton pretty much took it to the next level in terms of popularity.

50 did good last year for NY but, do you really want to claim that..being from NY?? Remember, he's up under that DR Dre umbrella.. I seriously doubt that he would sale that much on his own under NY production.. Dre made that nigga a super star like he does w/ almost everybody he brings out.

The people you just named were influenced by NWA, read the old articles when they talk about NWA saying "Fuck tha police" and all that shit.. They wouldn't be saying the shit that they say on their album if it wasn't for Compton so, again, you haven't proven your point about Brooklyn..

the whole rapper/actor thing was started by cube, and as a rapper his influence is as big as any of those you mentioned, dre's influence is self explanatory, quik influence on production in terms of takin it to new levels is pretty big, the more i think about it, brooklyn has more influential figures, but the few from compton who do have influence have HUGE influence, so it's pretty close.

compton has had a pretty large affect on rap as well and i love quik, dre, and cube..
we should give credit to both cities. they're both amazing cities with a lot of potential. after all this is just another matter of opinion....

How many rappers have copied Bay Area slang? 2pac the GOAT repped the bay. The whole bay blueprint has been used by everybody, including LA, Chicago, the South, and NY.
I haven't even gotten to peeps like the Luniz or Souls of Mischief, Richie Rich, Rappin 4 Tay, Saafir, etc etc etc

Both cities had a major role in this rap game,u cant deny that both Compton & Brooklyn had its artists & do have to this day.Both cities made a major impact on hip hop but Compton was just the first to do it.As in sales,Brooklyn has definately sold more,cause the only popular mc's from Compton are N.W.A.(including their solo's),Ice-T,Game & thats about it.All the others from Compton have talent but just never sold alot.But it goes the other way too,cause lots of mc's from Brooklyn havent sold shit.Personally I never look at shit like "where are these rappers all from"???Thats just plain stupid.
