It seems as soon as Suge got out of jail, Crooked I filed a temporary restraining order for Suge to stay away.
SUGE SUED BY FORMER PROTEGE
"Rap mogul MARION 'SUGE' KNIGHT is in the middle of another legal dispute just days after being released from jail.
The THA ROW boss, who spent a week in jail earlier this month (FEB05) on a parole violation, has been served with a temporary restraining order by one of his breakout artists, CROOKED I.
In the suit, the rapper - real name DOMINIC WICKLIFFE - claims Tha Row lawyers scared off rival record companies when his contract with Knight's label ended last year (04).
According to American news show CELEBRITY JUSTICE, Wickliffe is keen to settle the suit out of court and has offered to hand over the rights to all the material he recorded as a Tha Row artist to Knight in return for his freedom."

you got a link to this story?

god damn it man i continue to support suge cause kurupt is my favorite rapper but i dont think i can back him up any longer.
first off he has crooked on his label for 4 years, crooked does everything he asks and all we get is a few tracks on the dysfucntional soundtrack, he didnt release one solo album in 4 fuckin years.
then on top of this crooked doesnt want any of the hundred songs he recorded back he will give them all to suge for his freedom and thats still not good enough for suge.
to me it sounds like crooked did everything knight wanted him to do and basically suge did nothing to help crooked at all. suge knight is a horrible human being and fuck man please give CROOKED I HIS FREEDOM!!!!!

most of us won't know crooked i if it wasn't for death row
being unknown and sign with them give u a fanbase and a name
just like nobody knew top dogg before
and do u think suge wil make the moeny he invested in crook(i guess it includes gaz, money, food, studio session...)just by releasing his album?
he can't even promote him cause he left(so they can't do videos no more)
crook should talk to suge instead of complaining on websites and suge should find a solution
waiting for people to call me a suge dickrider...
-
^^not true, chances are Crooked I would have actually released an LP w/in the past 4 years if he had never signed to death row, therefore most of us would know who he was anyways.
-
wtf.. we knew who Crooked I was before Death Row.
He was on the 19th street compilations, all over the Wake Up Show.. and on Kurupts Streetz Iz A Mutha..

many rappers were on the 19th streets compilations and they are hardly known

the reason suge never releases music is because he doesn't want his artists to flop
the reason suge's artists would flop is that he can never generate a buzz around them
the reason suge can never generate a buzz around his artist is that everything death row does gets hated on
the reason everything the row does gets hated on is because suge is perceived as "a bad guy"
suge can't rehabilitate his image until he puts out a successful artist and has a hit record
-
^^everybody was anticipating his album like crazy, Crooked wasn't hated on while being on death row.
The mtv crowd was not, cause they don't know him but that has nothing to do with hating. Suge knew how "famous" Crooked is before he signed him, if he didn't feel capable of promoting him in a way that would allow him to release his album within the next 4 years, he shouldn't have signed him in the first place cause that was surely not what he told Crooked when they talked about the deal. Crooked had offers by various labels, you think he would've chosen death row if he knew they weren't gonna release his shit ?

Crooked is not a random DPG affiliated rapper, it's his skills that make him special and people were aware of these skills before he was signed to death row

well u think suge would have signed him(and gave him money)if he knew he wasn't going to release his album?

mtv refused to play the video for "still tha row" because they were throwing up the dub. i consider that hating. mtv and vh1 still run specials accusing suge of being responsible for the death of tupac shakur and b. smalls. vh1 runs like 4 specials, on snoop, dre, pac, and b. smalls that all end with the bad guy suge fuckiing things up. i consider that hating.

LOL, what a joke. Deathrow did nothing for Crooked I's popularity. U act like Deathrow blew Crooked I up,and now he's running out on them.
As far as meeting with Suge, he said in some interview about Suge wanting to meet with Crook at the Deathrow Offices so he could give him all his walking papers. Crooked I laughed and was like fuck that, "I'm not dumb enough to go behind closed doors with him". LOL....I can't blame him. He obviously knows what Suge is capable of.
-
Suge's time is over, the sonner he realises that the sonner his artists can start looking for a label that will actually let them release music
-
it's commonly known that Crooked I is not and was never a gangsta, he's a great emcee and since his main focus is battle, he combines it with the gangsta topic.
you think he would've chosen death row if he knew they weren't gonna release his shit ?

he either knew that there would be at least 4 more years before they release the shit (which is rather unlikely) or he overestimated himself.. either way it's his fault that Crooked was signed without ever being able to release an album in 4 years.

I don't follow mtv's or vh1's moves but if the thing about the video is true then yeah it may be hating on suge (it may also be random senseless bullshit, which occurs at times on these trash ass channels). As far as that other shit is concerned, any even 100% neutral special about Dre and Snoop will have Suge end up looking as the bad guy.. cause he is the bad guy. I doubt they hid the fact that death row wouldn't have been posible without him but he also destroyed it, and he been pathetically hating on em eversince, even thogh he's the who fucked Dre out of a big part of his half of death row. He had a very bad influence on Pac too being all in his ear (which is of course Pac's own fault too) and eventually even having him (no saying Suge odered him to do it, but it's his influece that made him do it) beat up orlando with them other bloods, which is most likely what Pac was shot for. So yeah in a way a Pac special will always have something negative to say about Suge too even if it's totally neutral. Now Suge having directly to do with Pac's death is siply a shocking story that many people are gonna be interested in. The media always promotes that kinda shit, cause people wanna see it. If the same rumors existed about Dre they wouldn't hide it either (well maybe they would cause of jimmy but that's another story)

crooked i has had some good stuff over the years, but theres a whole lot of up-an comers that are way more raw right now, and all this gossip about him and his former record company is funny, do all yall really care about suge knight that much? weird. crooked i's mixtape (his most recently released thing, that dynasty mixtape) was good, but most of the beats were ancient. id like to hear him on some more current stuff, nobodys stopping him from releasing more mixtapes, not even that bad man suge knight

Deathrow didn't do anything for gettin crooked I known. I know for him for years, since his first song, Girl with the Luniz on the Ride On ost. then he was decently well known by hip hop heads for the following years after. He had a big buzz on internet rap sites. If anything crooked I has gotten black balled by being with death row.
I'm sure suge has lost a lot of money with crook. but who's fault is that? it ain't crook's fault. You heard him say he recorded 4 albums worth of material while there. and I would definately beleive him, since he was there for 4 years. He made a lot of songs for the dysfunktional family ost. he did collabo's with murder inc (which I highly doubt crooked really did because he was good friends with ja rule and ashanti) He went on Jimmy Kimmel and performed. Shit man, Suge shoulda promoted him and released an album. It's all suge's fault, he is the man in charge. Crook did his part, he made the albums. Crooked I is not a record promoter, he is a rapper. Suge's job is to promote the record. Now he's mad that he spent all this money on crooked I and has nothing to show for it, so he wants crook to not get anything. Suge is a straight up hater. I sorta admire the man's business skills, but when this type of shit happens, I'm really starting to believe that suge don't have any business skills. He is just a very intimidating guy with a lot of power, and forces his way around. How long has it been since Dre and Snoop left? and he still takes shots at them? Fuckin get over it already, move on with your life.
