no thugs at work, no tracks w/ foxy brown, no original on the real, this shit already looks disappointing. im only going to get to hear 3 tracks i havent heard before(unless the bonus is new), i waited 8 years for this shit???
-
No Foxy Brown is a good thing.
I've had one listen and I have to say that I like it.

why 8 years? Mega put 3 albums out in the past 5 years

This was supposed to be his original Def Jam debut (around 1997).

Yea I’m a little disappointed in the way we got this album. Mega said himself on his website that this is the testament album the way he wanted it released, not the way it was actually put together by def jam. He said the song “Mega’s gonna hold his own” ft Carl Thomas was a testament track that def jam liked, but he never felt it went with the album so he left it off. Other songs like “take mine” and “u don’t want it” (which ended up on “the Realness” album) were also testament tracks left off. Then you have those old early defjam mega songs like “sex drugs bitches and money” and “slow Down” ft Foxy Brown which weren’t all that great, but would have rounded out the album nicely.
My other beef is that the album quality is really poor! It sounds like all the songs are rough studio mix’s the A&R’s at def jam would have. None of it is professionally mixed or mastered which is a fatal flaw considering the material is so good and it takes away from the quality substantially.

my thoughts exactly

Kinda hot from what I've heard so far. I got it from #riddim_ryder
The bonus track seems to be a 2nd version or a remix of Dead Man Walking
Uploading now, expect the full album in the hookup spot soon.

i'm sayin, that long of a wait, and only 1 bonus track? jay put like 3 on an album that he had just made.
now he needs to drop the album he did with marley marl. 8)

at first i thought the beats and r&b choruses were a bit too radio friendly for my liking, but now i feel the vibe of the album and can't stop listening to it. it's a shame we already heard songs like montana diary, angel dust or killaz theme on previous mega releases. imagine the impact of those tracks if they were brand new to you.
my favourites:
- dead man walking (both versions)
- angel dust
- love is love
megas catalogue is unfuckwitable. 8)
