Ice Cube was recently honored for his film work at the 6th annual Urbanworld Film Festival in the England, where Cube's latest flick "Barbershop," premiered. Cube received the first Minority Entertainment for the Cinematic and Creative Arts (MECCA) award for his role in opening the door for future minority filmmakers and actors.
"It feels good, I feel real proud," Cube told BBC news. "I am only 33, I've got a lot to do. This is the first half of my career - I'm looking forward to the future and I'm proud about the past."
Cube echoed a sentiment familiar to other minority filmmakers regarding the lack of funding. "Right now we're dealing with low expectations so also low budgets," he said. "Hopefully that will change in the future."

That's tight. Cube is a multitalented man. More power to him.

hell yeah

Cube has done some real movies.
Boyz N The Hood for example was a dope movie although I'd have prefered Cube's character to be the main character..
he's da man no doubt

Thats good for him, I guess..

Props to Cube, unlike most rappers tryina be actors he deserved an award

IMO to act for a rapper aint that hard if they keep playing the same role of a thug. When a rapper proves that he can act not being a thug too, then he got talent. Cube got mad talent.
And yea, Boyz-N-Da Hood is still my fav black movie ever.
