I've always found it odd that Americans have a different definition of techno than Europeans. For Europeans it's a subgenre of dance, but for Americans it's just electronic dance music.

yeah, kinda true, what i understand by techno sucks IMO, but i like certain trip-hop, jungle, garage, d´n´b and ambient stuff, but for americans it´s all "techno"
