Title: Has anyone ever dissed Public Enemy?
Post by: Citizen-Y on March 27, 2005, 12:08:50 AM
I'm drunk as hell listening to "Night of the Living Bassheads" and wondering if Public Enemy ever had beefs.

Beer is good.   :D

Last time i posted this, Lincoln Lowered my Karma for a week, hopefully it wont happen again

Del the Funky Homosapien - Pet Peeves (2nd part where the beat changes)

Hey whassup man, this is D-E-L once again
I'm here to tell you a little story about this motherfucker
who keep runnin his big ass mouth
You don't know me, motherfucker
Shut your ass up, 'fore I slap the lips off your motherfuckin face
Man, you got a big ass mouth!
You know what?

[Del]
Fools is hella talkative, saying how I walk and live
Always trying to start the kid, wishin that we all can give
a small interview, just a subterfuge
Wanna hook up with you so they can say 'whatchu do'
Get your own life, live your own legacy
Why you wanna spread my rees, talking 'bout my girls pregnancy
Professor, I guess you never learned your lesson
When you saw me out drinkin at the bar,
you said I was sexin this other ho
Chuck D, what a brother know
about my beeswax, runnin off with your feedback
Who I smoked weed with? Who I smoked crack with? (false)
How I sexed every girl you know without no prophylactic
Fool, I'll be in the house and that's it
On the rap tip or studyin, unlike you
You quite new, no game
I understand you a youngster, wanna be hustler
Undercover buster
Can't believe I trusted ya
- but that goes to show
how fools fold getting jelly off the dough, yo!

[Del's imitation]
"Del's rich Del's bitch got zero, cause Del's a hero,
Del's a weirdo because he do heroin"

[Del]
Ain't got no idea where Teren's been
I should take it to pugilism so
I can fuse your vision with some realness
Instead of these fake phony stories you be glorifyin
Don't you know that many more are dyin?
From the fatal disease, called runnin them choppers
in front of females, or on front of the coppers
You only do this shit cause you be wanting your propers
Somebody's gonna get steamed and run up and pop ya
You exercise your choppers really, choo choo choo
You exercise your choppers off some brand new news
Your molars bite, your canines tear, whether it's false or true
You exercise your choppers like some gossipin fool
You know what?
You get your little notices from bumpin your gums
When you should be concentratin on lumpin your sums
Got to show your little ass when company comes
Cause We From The Crew That You Wanna Be From
You get your little notices from bumpin your gums
When you should be concentratin on lumpin your sums
Got to show your little ass when company comes
Cause We From The Crew That You Wanna Be From!
BIOTCH!

that doesnt sound like it has anything to do with chuck d. youngster???
i think he only said chuck d, so he could say the 'what a brother know' line that succeeds it. unless there is some history between the two that i am unaware of...

Phife Dawg on "Scenario (Remix)":

Freestyle fanatic, probably the best around
As for corny MC's, like Chuck D, I "Shut 'Em Down"

that means he shuts them down as chuck d would, like the PE song shut em down. you know that, right?

I'm working under the assumption he's calling him a corny MC.  I mean "Fight The Power"?  That's some cornball shit if I've ever heard it.

I was too young to understand what the hell they were talkin about back in the day, but I've never liked PE at all.

LOL, first of all I've never lowered this guy's karma, although he's brought it up several times in a year. You could have Seer check his internet records.

And I still hold that he was referencing Chuck D, he just didn't say the word "like" preceeding saying Chuck D. I don't understand someone could misunderstand that and think it's a diss. Why the hell would Del go after Chuck D? The rest of the verse would make absolutely no sense applied to Chuck D. Youngster? Wannabe hustler? Smoked weed/crack with? Come on, it makes no sense.

Have you in fact heard the song?, well i dont really care about the karma deal anymore, but i do believe del kinda was talkin to chuck D on this track, maybe it has something with them being from the bay...he is talkin about someone, he only addresses one name, and that is Chuck D.....SOO...PUT 1+2 TOGETHER......I guess the only way we will ever know is if del or chuck tells us something

I have heard the song, I am a big Del fan. The rest of the verse would make no sense in reference to Chuck D. Your theory is full of more holes than swiss cheese.

One, We know he is talkin about someone, He puts reference to Chuck D, And when he says "CHUCK D" he puts emphasis on his name, And he Says "What a Brother Know ABOUT MY Bizwacks"...He Doesnt Pause When he says "What A Brother Know" as like he was referencing him, i dunno what your talkin about, but it sure sounds like a diss to me
