Title: West Coast Retirees
Post by: C-Swift on April 06, 2005, 11:09:56 AM
Caz has retired so who else needs to?

Too Short (dude been pimpin too long and ain't had a change in subject matter)
C-Bo (dude in his late 30s still callin himself a "thug")
Snoop (but he should keep producing like when he did "Beware of My Crew" with LT Hutton)
Daz (from rapping but not producing)

I don't think anyone sohuld retire if they still make good music.  Rap is still a relatively new form of music, so we really don't know "how long" a rapper can last.  I mean, there hasn't been a 50 year old rapper still sellin records, but it really hasn't been tried before, besides maybe Run DMC.

IMO Too $hort should of left with Gettin' It. That was a great way to go out. I wasn't feeling any of his post-retirement albums.

c-bo calls himself a "thug" cuz he is....since he never blew up to the big time he is still affiliated and gangbangin, riding around with guns still. and the old guys never want to retire, cuz what career will they be able to fall back on when this rap thing is finished?

these artists need to retire only when new artists are on top. Snoop ? Hell no just need to team up with WC producers again (Dre, Battlecat, Fredwerck)
