M.O.P. IT UP
Chalk M.O.P. up as one of the long-lost hip-hop acts of the early part of the new century. Buried deep on the old Roc-A-Fella roster and now caught in limbo following the sale of the company, it would seem that the Mash Out Posse would be the last group announcing the release date of their next album. But, in yet another case of KOCH Records saving the day, M.O.P. is reportedly planning to release a new studio album sometime this June on KOCH. Featuring a combination of brand new material from the group, plus several tracks from their Roc-A-Fella stint, Billy and Fame are said to be back in the studio working to throw their hats back into the hip-hop ring. Early rumors are even pinning the album's first single on the shoulders of Little Brother's 9th Wonder, who, not surprisingly, seems to be popping up everywhere in rap music these days. As always with recent M.O.P. reports though, stay tuned. This one could get interesting. -- Christopher "Scav" Yuscavage
