April 11, 2005 -- ELTON John ranks Eminem in the same class as rock gods Mick Jagger and Jimi Hendrix. In a gushing essay in Rolling Stone's new "Immortals" issue, John says he got "goose bumps" when he first rehearsed with the rapper for their 2001 Grammy performance. "From the start, I've always admired Eminem's thinking," John writes. "That's the reason I wanted to appear on the Gram mys with him when I was asked, despite all the nonsense talked about his being homophobic. Let the Boy Georges and George Michaels of the world get up in a twist about it if they don't have the intelligence to see his intelligence."
Yeah...I know, Eminem made a terrible last cd. But, every artist loses that hunger. Look at Ice Cube. However, Eminem's album from 'slim shady lp' to Marshall Mathers were masterpieces. But he'll never show that hunger again unless some MC LIKE Chino XL, Ras Kass calls him out. Then he may actually, buckle down and write some incredible lyrics we know he's capable of doing.

depends on how you look at it. as a musician, Eminem is a bad fuckin joke compared to Jimi. As an icon of pop culture, I think he does have the potential to be viewed as a real legend one day, fuck the wack shit he´s been putting out.

The only rapper that can be mentioned as a legend alongside Hendrix or Elvis is Pac. Period, point blank.
Eminem is anywhere near Pac's league, or Hendrix or Elvis league.

Spot on with your comments about Elton John. Yes he's a fat fucking queen, but as a musician he's top notch. He's got shit loads more classic songs then A LOT of artists.
