Leandro Desabato of Argentinian Quilmes is handed the warrant of arrest by Police Inspector Oswaldo Goncalvez after the game.
Desabato called Grafite on the opposite team for "Black boy" in a incident that lead to Grafite pushing Desabato, leading to Grafites red card.
Police Inspector Oswaldo Goncalvez heard Grafites interviews after the game, and decided to arrest Desabato, "In Brazil, such comments is illegal" he said.

i think they should have that racism here in the us. where if u say something racist then u have to go to jail. everyone would walk around with a tape recorder
-
As silly is this is, should there really be laws against it?
I think that a well educated populace who can recognize and roundly dismiss shit like this is much better than government regulation.
BTW, It's soccer.
-
wtf, arrested for racism? thank god i live in Usa

OK, first off Brazil doesnt have lots of Neo Nazi´s living their, I dont know where your Spanish teacher found that information and second, Brazilians dont speak Spanish and have nothing to do with Spain so they are not considered Hispanics, so im questioning why you are learning this in a Spanish class...lol
But anyways its a double standard. If you make fun of a white person here nothing is going to happen to you but if call a black guy a Monkey, which is what the soccer player did your fucked. Your ass is going to jail then at jail your gunna get rapped.

I got a couple questions for you.
What is so great about soccer (football ::) ) that gets people so in to it? And why are there so many riots about a guy getting a red card or pretending he is hurt?
I mean, you can't even use your hands. What fun is that?
-
^^ There is another sport where you can use your hands, called "Handball". (Thereof the name). Football/Handball, makes sense doesn't it.. ?
Football is, BY FAR, the biggest sport in the world, obviously it's the sport with the biggest appeal.
Simple rules, everybody can play it, and it takes big skill to be a good player, you can't just pump iron and become a Footballer, like in certain other sports..
Pace, technique, stamina, brain, strength, dribbling, passing, creativity & teamwork, you gotta have it all to become a top player.
2 x 45 minutes, so you gotta be in shape, and the viewers doesn't have to watch commercials every 10 minutes.
I've always wondered why Americans doesn't give a shit about Football, when it's by far the biggest sport in the world..
Is it maybe because the 2x45 minutes format is unsuitable/untolerable for commercialized American TV networks.. ?
Or maybe Americans wanted their own version of the Britons Football, so their made their own shit..

we dont like it cus it sucks... period

That reasoning doesn't cut it, sounds to me like you got kicked out of your local Football team in Junior High.. :P
So according to that reasoning, the rest of the world doesn't like American Football because it sucks.. ? :D
-
its only europeans who call soccer football
americans call NFL football
australians call AFL football
depends where you live, but soccer > *

That ain't it at all, at least for me. There are A LOT of kids here that play soccer. The thing that turned me off more than anything about it is there is absolutely no scoring. Maybe 1 or 2 goals a game. The second thing that kinda made me hate it is, all the parents of the kids who play around here want the game to end up in a tie so "everyone is a winner" ::) . And the third thing is, I play baseball and I used to play Amercian football, and anytime either of those sports are in season, there is always someone playing soccer on the fields completely tearing it up. It's especially bad on the baseball fields cause they take it in on the dirt and shit which makes the ball take bad hops so it's harder to catch. There are tons of soccer fields here, yet they don't like to use them for some odd reason.
But you never answered my other question. Why do I always hear about soccer riots in Amsterdam and Brazil and places like that? Do yall get THAT mad someone gets a red card and shit?

Actually after the second world war many of the nazis fled to south America because there is little to no law over there. If you live in Brazil and you dont know this, you a fool

so u think basketball is better then coz u score like every 15-20 seconds?
personally i think it is more exciting waiting for like 20/30 minutes or however long...waiting for a moment of genius which can win a game for one team or the other...rather than just who fucks up more or who gets more tired

Yeah after World War II 1,200 and 1,500 Nazis entered Brazil between 1940 and 1960. WOW! thats alot of Nazis...And even if it was a higher number we are in the year 2005 about 60 years after WWII.

Worst reasoning I've heard in a long while..
1. Making it that harder to score, makes it A LOT more satisfying to score, and it makes goalscoring an actual EVENT.
Where's the fun if you can't play without somebody keeping score..
In Football, you know the score without looking at a scoreboard, without having to ask the referee.
2. If your parents wants the game to "end up in a tie so everybody's a winner", then you got some suckers as parents. :D
Only 1st place is good enough is the motto. 8)
3. Haven't you Americans heard of something called artificial grass.. ??
We got a whole gang of artificial grassfields here, it never wears out.. 8)
About the riots and fights, it's because of crazy ass hooligans.
It's not because normal fans get mad because of a red card, it's because a phenomenon called "Hooligans", or another type called "Casuals".
A small part of certain clubs fans are described as "hooligans", and they're more interested in fighting their rival supporters then watching the actual game.
Their motivation is rather shady.. A lot can be said about them, most people don't get it, and there's been books and movies on the subject..
I suggest watching the movie "Football Factory" if you want to learn more about Hooligans, it's a funny well-made movie..

I'm talking about playing the sport moreso than watching it. And that's not really the case with basketball either. It comes right down to the edge. And since the area is more enclosed, you have to rely more on teamwork than anything else in the last quarter. If you play awesome, and your team sucks, you are probably not gonna win the game. So it's not really about who is gonna fuck up, but who has practiced enough and who can hit the shots that really matter.

1. If I watch any game, which I hardly do, then I like to have a scoreboard. But when I play, I don't need one. I have it all in my head. I'm not in the NBA so we don't get up to the 100s or anything. After I played community ball, I played pick up 2 on 2 games usually to 21.
2. I wish everyone had that motto here. I might have actually got in to it. But parents saw the low scoring as a way to make everything fair. If someone did score, then the coach would tell them to ease up a little bit. It's really a sad sight.
3. We do have artificial grass, but it's in enclosed arenas and stuff. I live in Minnesota where 6 months out of the year there is snow on the ground. Fuck the artificial turf when grass is 10000000x better. Plus, artificial turf looks way tacky.
Thanks for letting me know about the riots and the movie. My view has been a little skewed about them cause we hear about them so much. It made me think yall are crazy and shit ;D. And hey, I'd rather watch soccer than curling.
-
^^ 3. I dunno which generation of artificial grass you are using, but the latest generation feels, acts and look like natural grass, except that there's no holes or bumps in the artificial turf.. the 1st generation they used 15 years ago was dangerous to health, but the new generation of grass is great, I play on it every week, and I gotta say I'm impressed; you get better control, the game goes faster, and it doesn't get slippery when it's raining.

alot more than 1500 nazis came to brazil. And they didnt just die they had families that means more nazis

Oh I know. The Metrodome just got the newest stuff last year and I got a chance to play on it. It's pretty nice. I hate to slide on turf though. And nothing like being outside on a nice day.
