You got Ho Hopper CDQ? that was my favorite dre era. 93.
-
1992-1995,theres no question
-
Normally, I'd go with the early to mid 90's era, but considering that many of Dre's productions were based on samples, I'll go with the futuristic sounding production from the year 99' all the way to...now. Every now & then, we get a few dope experimental cuts ( Setup, Oh! ), but overall...Dre's produced based on the same style for the last several years, which is dope regardless.

Dr.Dre:1992-1995=top 3 producer of all time(all genres).his new shit(2002-2005) just aint as good as the Dre beats we´re used to hearin.
-
1. [1992-1995]
2. [1998-2003] and [1987-1989]
4. [2004-2005]
-
the '2001' era !
-
3rd option is my number 1, but 2nd one is legendary as well
-
1. [1992-1995]
2. [1998-2003] and [1987-1989]
4. [2004-2005]
-
92 - 95 fo sho! 8)
-
Did you guys forget about 1991 Nwa niggaz4life? That shit was tight as fuck! Im going with 91 - 96
-
The beats he was making for Papa's Got A Brand New Funk. Around that time :)
-
I think the most recent "era" of Dre started with 50 Cent's album. He, for the most part, stopped using the drums he did on Chronic 2001. For example, on In Da Club, it has more digital sound with the handclap/snare sound etc. The shit on Obie's album might be the best stuff I've heard from Dre in this era. Oh! was crazy and so was The Setup.
I think you can see the difference between the new Dre era by listening to Big Ego's and Westside Story. Both are produced by Dre and Scott Storch and both are similar becuase they use the same instrument sounds. But Westside Story sounds a lot more digital and futuristic sounding while Big Ego's is a bit more stripped down and more "live" sounding.
That said, The best Dre has been was the Death Row era and the 2001 era in my opinion.
-
Def the 92-95 era was his best, followed by the chronic 2001 era. Dre sounds less musical now. I'm not diggin his new stuff as much as I liked his past stuff as much.
-
I think that Dre's new direction for Detox will be based on specialized instrumental mixing and ill switch-ups during the beat. "Oh!" is the perfect example of this, with each verse having it's own instrumental pieces mixed in. "Encore" & "Don't Worry" followed a similar formula...various tones and layers during the track's progression. If Dre keeps it real innovative and creative, he's gonna change the game, again.
-
I myself would go with the chronic 2001 era. Dre's stuff was in a way more soulfull then with songs like Xxsplovive which one of my all time favorite instrumentals, there are hints of that style with The Game's Start From Scratch. Although it's evident that he's trying new things with these albums he's producing with the game, 50, em. I still have faith in him creating something new and memorable with detox.
-
i would go with 1998-2003 era ... 8)
-
1992-1995 ;D
-
98 to 2003 isnt 1 era in my opinion
but anyways.... [1992-1995] was his best shit
-
The Death Row Era is the best were he was makin bangin G-Funk beats, i just luv the DR Era's music and shit...
-
Finally people agree with wat i gotta say! Im not feeling Dre's beats nowadays only a few of them were tight! like the last Dre beat that i was feeling was off Obie Trice's album! That shit was bananas! Like the shit d=he did on Game's LP, was like "Is this a dre beat or wat?" where as if u hear a primo joint u be like "Yo that definatly a Premier joint!!!"
But i still got love for dre! i think his best era was in 1987 alll the way down to 1997! sum classic material he done in that time span! think about the albums he did! all the NWA stuff, Snoop, his own album (People knock me for owning "Dr. Dre presents... The Aftermath, but when they listen to it they like YEAh this the SHIT!),
oh yeah who can forget the classic shit he did we nas, and the Firm album (Phone Tap, one of my personal fav. Dre beats!.)
-PEACE-
-
I'll just say the Death Row era. I don't think there will ever be an era with so much great music again. What the South is doing right now will probably in 10 years be seen as one of the greatest eras in hip hop... but IMO the South from nowadays can't fuck with DR.

Eminem: Bitch Please 2, Remember Me?, Never Enough, Say What You Say
G-Unit: Poppin Them Thangs, G'd Up

-
1992-1995 for sure
i'd say the earlier era but it sounds waaay old school nowdays, still dope though.. the new stuff is also tight but there seemed to be more ways of creating a different sound back then
-
Man what happened to the 100 miles runnin to niggaz4life era? 1990-1991??? That was Dre at his most advanced. Like Kanye said Remember them NWA songs when DRE would change the beat like 5 times in a song.
Efil4Zaggin Dres best production.
-
no doubt the 2nd era has to be up there then i would say the 3rd
