Wait, they dont decide who gets the award until sunday....... ???

Why in the world would Shaq even expect it? He's had one of his worst seasons ever and wasn't even the best player on his team... ::)

-
i love nash, i knew he would get it
-
ya miami won this year but shaq had a shit ass year...how the hell did he even finish second...shit amare stoudamire had a better year than shaq
-
^^^your way of thinkin is amazing......if everyone thought like you this world would be such a wonderful place.....here have a prop 8)
-
Shaq was the third best offensive force in the NBA for the year of 2005, behind Duncan #2 and Garnett#1 and in front of Amare Stoudamire #4, Dirk Nowitkzi #5, and Lebron at #5. I would have loved to see what Jason Kidd could do with that amazing duo the Suns have.

wrong decision
How was it the wrong decision? Steve Nash took a team that was in last place last year, and took them to first place. The games that the Suns did lose this year happened when Steve Nash was out of the line up.
Shaq goes on the HEat and they go from 4 or 5 to 1st. Doesn't seem like he was as valueable as Nash
-
He deserves it, props to him
-
OH CANANDA, nah for real shaq and nash was a toss up, congrats to them both though, peace.

Nash leaves Dallas and they get better, Shaq leaves the Lakers and they suck dick, nuff said

I'm not understanding how it's a toss up at all? SHAQ IS UNDENYABLY NOT PLAYING THE BEST BASKETBALL ON HIS OWN TEAM...Jesus Christ, if someone tells me Shaq is doing more for the Heat than Wade is, then they're gunna get socked in the head...The Big Baby is having the worst season of his NBA career...End of story.

Shaq didn't leave the Lakers...Phil Jackson (+his coaching staff), Gary Payton, Karl Malone, Derek Fisher, Kareem Rush, Rick Fox, Horace Grant, Bryon Russel, Slava Medvedenko's game, and Shaq left the Lakers...There's quite a difference. It's doesn't even take a moron to realize that the Lakers are basically an expansion team.
Dallas, on the other hand, have acquired impact players, such as Jason Terry, Erick Dampier, Keith Van Horn, Jerry Stackhouse, and Darrel Armstrong to their roster...Now do you see the difference, or do I need to elaborate further?... 8)

LMAO...It doesn't work like that...You don't adjust shit, you take what you're given...The Big Baby would die if he averaged 40 minutes...Stop fucking with all those numbers and just look at them straight up.

I think the way Nash played in game 4 and 5 gonna close the thread ;D
-
as a Laker fan, I say Shaq still deserved it. Shaq had an average season for him, BUT, it was better than most anyone else. Nash only got the award 'cause they didn't want to give it to the obvious chose, just like Malone got a couple MVPs instead of MJ.
-
its not about fucking with numbers, its about having a system that truthfully represents the value of a player. To hell wiht the traditional stats, theres already a new wave of stat heads that are coming up with stats the represents a player better. The Pts/40min is not saying that that certain player should play forty min but it represents the direct impact the player on the court in a better way. Look at the Sonics, they are acquiring players with players that excel in those stats. They are the "moneyball" of basketball. WEll i guess the less people know about their ways the more time tey have to build a winning team.
