yeah that song is pretty hot and its good to see somebody pay homage. but this just makes the West Coast look bad. are we so pathetic that we need artist from other coast to show us how to rep our on side?

Yes, yes we are.
-
I dont really think its about that. Thats an interestin perspective though. I see it as:
- Showing nothing but love for the West(why the west of all places? cuz he knows whats up!)
-He knows the west been asleep for a minute and the giant is awaking ... what better way to wake up a sleeping giant than with a proper dedication track?
Bottom line is, the track was proper ... he can correct on this one.
Tq did it before and I loved that track!

damn this shit is bangin 8)
-
All I gotta say is HUGE props to David Banner. He even says RIP Mac Dre.

-
this just makes me like david banner more.He knows whats up in the west.
-
pretty tight he repped my city "San Bernardino" ;D
-
I hated David Banner untill i heard this song a few mins ago.
-
Is this track on any of the news web site (like Westcoast2k.net or DubCNN.com)?
-
It was not so good... :(
-
Track is heavy, not heard any of Banners stuff, all i knew was he was on Def Jam Fight for NY,
I like this alot, why cant anyone from the west do a track like this, only time they mention anyone from the same coast is to diss each other, shit is getting boring.
-
I'm not really feeling David Banner's voice & flow, but damn, I just gotta give him props for doing a song like this. Dude apparently knows his Hip-Hop 101 judging by his name drops (DJ Pooh, KAM, etc...).
Nice beat too 8)
-
yep, full credit to dude
-
So it took Banner shouting out: Cellski, MC ammer, Spice-1, DJ Quik, MC Ren, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eazy, Ice Cube, E-40, Too Short, MC Eiht, Ice-T, JJ Fad, DJ Yella, Mykestro, King Tee, Messy Marv, Tha Liks, C-Bo, Brotha Lynch, San Quinn, Mack 10, Booyaa T.R.I.B.E., Keak Da Sneak, Rappin' 4-Tay, Suga Free, Ant Banks, Mac Dre(R.I.P.), Dogg Pound, DJ Pooh, Cypress Hill, Hieroglyphics, Ras Kass, W.C., 2Pac, Digital Underground, Cartoon, Deathrow, Knoc-Turn'Al, Battlecat, Big Chan, Kam, Nate Dogg, JT The Bigga Figga, Above The Law, Game, for you guys to recognize his talent? FUCK IT! At least you recognize it now.
This is the dopest Dedication track to the West, probably ever. Thank you David Banner.

^naw TQ's "Westside" will always be the best West Coast dedication track.
but I do find it funny that no rapper from the West could think of making a track like this...
-
David Banner is incredible, both in terms of his production and the wildy varying quality of his songs. He can do funny but also serious, observant, and introspective. When he was talking about "Westside" in an interview he was talking about how the East Coast media only lets one other group or coast up at the time, first it was the west, now it was the south, so he feels like he can relate to the west like that.
His new video "Ain't Got Nuthin" is hysterical! If you guys haven't seen it yet you should definately check it out. Its just ridiculously funny to another level.
Can't wait for his new album to drop.
-
He's probably not doing so good in the West as far as sales so he probably just wants to get are attention so we could buy his CD
-

theres tons of tracks from westcoast artists like this
shit even old game did it back in his getlow days
but shits played out a west guy repping the west so nothing big was made out of it.
Reason why this is so big is an artist (a big one too) from the south showed his love for a coast other than his. Banner has been here tons of times and done colabos with west artists. Its not just that he knows the west is on the verge of rasing again. BUT a single like this will gaurantee radio spins on the west coast (where probably his sales werent up to par on his last album).
-
people from the south recognize the west coast...
at the Quik show, chingy was on stage tellin everyone how he knows wassup with the west coast, L.A. and knew every word to "tonight "
also dont forget about da brat, so so def music production , we da whole west coast gangsta movement back then had ppl in the south tryin 2 b just like us
banners got hot ass beats tbough!
-
i like it
-
@ SGV: there's a difference between not recognizing an MC's talent and simply not feeling somebody's voice/style...
-
^^^^ yup i have never liked his voice, but i love this song

Knocturnal did one called "peepin tom" where he makes references to alot of big westcoast tracks from the past.
