Eminem is considered a great producer by most of the pop audience ::) Then again, that's a pop audience, they don't use their ears to listen, they just follow the hype.

The poll? Throw up a finger if you feel the same way, Dre puttin' it down for Californ-i-a. There's some that come close, but still...

Guy just always deliver! followed by Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, E-Swift, Madlib, Hi-tek, The Alchemist and then DJ Muggs! but theres loads of good producers like Clark kent, Easy Mo Bee, DJ Evil Dee, Mark 45 King, Diamond D etc...even the independant cats like Evidence, Jake-One, DJ Babu, Joey Chavez etc.... but def. Primo tha illest!

But Battlecat is my 2nd favorite producer, and after him it's Daz...

Either way, I think Dre's been able to put it down for a while now and I think he has the versatility, but he just is comfortable staying within what he likes doing. He did some dope shit for The Firm album and on It Was Written.

Anywho, here's some of my favorite producers, OF ALL TIME:

Polar Bear (nearly all beats he did for RBX were sure fire)

I'm not that much of a Battlecat-fan myself. He can make very good beats but then he also had a number of beats that were very so so. ('Dogghouse In Your Mouth' springs to mind.)
