i have been listening to this lately and nas spits some classic shit ( i know we have had a post about this before but i just had to bring it back) whats your fav song off this album and what do you think about this album

how many mics did this get and how many would you give it, has snoop done anything w/ nas cause if he hasnt he should

ummm not that i know of between nas and snoop but nas recites some of snoop's lines every once in a while

I love every track equally except It ain't hard 2 tell and life's a bitch which i like a LITTLE less than the others..and i've heard nas quote snoop 3 times,but that's it..peace-Tanjint

The whole album is classic.  My favorites are just about everything on there. Its hard to choose favorites because there are only 10 tracks (9 of which are songs)

I must say I am a huge NAS fan. There was a time about two years ago when I just could not stopping listening to this fool. I first picked up the album "I am" and it was banging, so I picked up "It was written" ... that was bangin too, so I picked up Illmatic ................ FUCKING SHIT WAS RAW AS HELL!!!!!!

Illmatic is to Nas what Doggystyle is to Snoop!

Every song on there is classic, WHOS WORLD IS THIS, THE WORLD IS YOURS , ITS MINE ITS MINE ITS MINE........ I'll love Nas to death... he is probably my second favorite rapper next to Snoop...


I gotta go out on a limb here and say ... If you say your a rap fan, but never heard the album Illmatic by Nas, then truly you are not a rap fan, thats flat out fact! There are very few cds that you can say that about, but if you like rap, you need to have at least heard this album, its CLASSIC, the only reason i press this so hard is because it truly is one great masterpeice, but it was shutdown by mainstream rap. GO GET THAT NOW!

Thinking about Illmatic makes me realize how hard Nas fell off.  Stillmatic was crapomatic and now Nas has officially snapped.  Sad, sad, sad situation.  Though, his song on the new Face album is off the hook.

That album is the best hip hop album ever.
I can't decide on one tho. Maybe, It aint to tell or halftime. Every song is fuckin dope so its hard to deicde.
