There was a time where Id love these type of beats,& I couldnt get enough of them.& now,I just cant fuckin stand them. All these music artists are on his dick right now,& yes, thats a great business move. But what about some originality???Go ahead,go get some production from Storch, but c'mon, how about sth different???I give my props to Styles P.,he went to Storch & actually got sth different. The way everyone is makin these type of songs singles is just pathetic. You got Terror Squad - Lean Back,50 Cent - Candy Shop & Just A Lil Bit,Mariah Carrey (whatever that song is called),R.Kelly wit The Game,Jadakiss - U Make Me Wanna & so on.Those are just the ones I currently remember, there's way more. What are yall opinions about Storch & his indian beats & every artist makin these songs singles???

I can't stand them at all they are fucking boring.

theres not enough mel-man, watch out is an awesome song :(

certainly, but mel-man is not scott storch
-
couldnt agree more w/ MT
but his shit sells, so I guess he's happy makin similar beats for every1 who comes down wit a cheque. The beats he did years ago for the likes of Mystikal and Sticky Fingaz are wot he needs to get back to.
-
I totally agree with that topic.
I love the first indian-style beats Storch did :
"We Ballin'" (Memphis Bleek), "The Way I Am" (Knoc-Turn'al) are tracks that didn't get a lot of radio airplay, although the Knoc track could have been a good argument to sell units. Sly Boogy's "That's my name" got also that that indian style with the drum.
Then the tracks Storch did for Beyonce (w/ sean paul), were that kind of tracks people wanted to hear on the radio. Then, "lean back" got a lot of influence on his following productions with the addition of the cello, and that's why i would say that track was interesting and marked really something new... but all the following productions after "lean back" are nothin but same annoying shit, nothing new, no evolution, it's a pity. However, it works

i don´t have a problem with beats sounding similiar and Dre and Premier are my 2 favorite producers of all time and a lot of their shit sounds basically the same. but with Storch it´s something different coz it doesn´t even sound like he´s puttin in an effort when he´s producing joints solo and i just think he´s found something that works out commercially but when peeps stop checking for those indian sounding joints he can have a huge problem if he´s stuck doin those types of beats. now after hearin all of his tracks of late i have a hard time to see how anyone could actually think that Storch is the mastermind when he and Dre does beats togheter coz those beats are always knocing(West Side Story,Start From Sratch etc)and most of his recent solo joints haven´t coem close to the joints he done did along side Dr.Dre.
-
Most of them sound like Dre beats, excpet all storchs sound alike.
-
most producers shit sounds similar to wat eva dey dun before

true, it's an eazy way to make money without workin too much
-
I never understood the hype about Storch. He's boring. He puts out dope shit every once in awhile, but he's way too inconsistent for me to get happy when I hear he's producing a song.

Storch should stick do doing keys for Dre.
All Storch's beats is starting to sound the same, and most of them lack proper bass, it sounds like something Dre threw away..
-
im not feelin scott storch by himself (with the exception of "Clap Back, "The Streets", "Its Nuthin")
but i cant knock the hustle cuz all producers sound the same. thats because when one song blows up, every rapper rushes to the producer tryna get somethin similar (listen to Freak-A-Leak" and "Goodies"). and it ends up becoming their sounds. cant nobody tell me that the Neptunes, Timbaland, Kanye West, etc are that versatile. but because their beats are so similar, right when you hear the song you can say OH THATS GOTTA BE A _____ BEAT!
-
in the beginning i liked his beats, but over time every beat starts to sound the same
-
None of his beats sound the same to me...maybe because i dont hear much of his shit...Candyshop and Lean back dont sound similar to me...
-
That Indian type of production Scott, timbaland, n other producers do from time to time...are fuckin dope.
-
Candyshop and Lean back dont sound similar to me...
haw can u say that... it's pretty the same !
-
...Candyshop and Lean back dont sound similar to me...
They sound similiar to me in the way that they are both wack.

I think theres a difference between songs having a similar format as most of the Neptunes, Timbaland and Kanye West tracks do, and using exactly the same sounds for every beat as Storch seems to be doing recently. The fact that his stuff is all over radio highlights the problem more so though.

+ KMI, Dilla done used a cello way before Storch did it on Lean Back.
-

go listen to fabolous - round and round. storch is becoming the producer that uses the same beat over and over by tweaking it a little each time.

Yeah, his beats are similar u can almost always tell if its a Storch Production, but that doesn't mean i'm disliking them, I guess i'm the only one that still thinks they are dope.
-
Maybe he's trying too hard to develop his own sound...he can drop a banger, that's for sure. But he needs to switch up styles every now & then to keep his productions fresh.
-

i agree wit u. i ain't claimin Storch is the 1st to have done this... but only that it was the 1st Storch production that had that cello vibe.
-
po' nigga blues from loyal to the game is dope as the pope 8)
havnt heard enough of his work to judge if im sick of him or not tho...
-
Agreed, he's at his best when he doesn't do Indian-type beats (I'll Hurt You)
-

but its ok when lil jon does it? like i said: listen to "freak-a-leak" and "goodies"

I'm just sick of the Indian beats in general. It seems like the same sample is being used in every damn song that incorporates this type of production. It's redundant and boring.
-
The Scott Storch remixes to "It's Like That" by Mariah and "Let Me Love You" by Mario are fucking great (ass far as the beat anyway)
-
in the beginning i liked his beats, but over time every beat starts to sound the same
-
I can't really tell if I'm getting sick of the sound, but a fact is to me that after Lean Back I haven't really enjoyed a Storch production again. Maybe Lean Back's standard is just too high, but that beat still isn't overplayed to me. I hate it when they play the remix to that song in the club because Lil Jon simply fucked that up and they put down some wack verses for that one.
Sick of Storch's indian style? Nah, I'm pretty sure he can still put something incredible down in his indian-style without exactly doing the same AGAIN. Question is, will he do that? He'll probably keep repeating the same old shit, and in that case, yes I am sick of it.

You can tell dude is just produciing too much a one time. He's on everyone's record right now, he's like the guy you get cuz . He's a talented dude and he still has a lot of potential but he definitely needs to slow down so he can evolve a little. When he's hot, he's hot (Lean Back, that Mario joint, the new Busta Rhymes joint), but I definitely agree all his new shit is starting to sound the same.
