What's your thoughts about the past 6 months for the West Coast scene ?
The only "big" releases are quik's Under the influence and E-40's Grit & Grind.
The other major releases has been pushed back (snoop, xzibit,
golden state....),i hope something more for the 2nf half of the year.

are you kiddin?
you forgot DAZ DILLINGER - THIS IS THE LIFE I LEAD
SPICE 1 - SPICEBERG SLIM
spice 1 was my fav album of the year till now.. we've had dope compilations like Bay 2 LA Vol.2
but true, the biggest major releases were pushed back.
but spice & daz were off the hook, peace
-
Daz album is nice but not off the hook in my opinion,Spice 1 too but its not the BIGGEST release in terms of quality.
Under the influence is tighter.
-
there's been NOTHING GOOD released...quik and daz where average at best...its really disappointing...no one new is stepping up...crooked i, knoc, ras kass, roscoe where supposed to drop but got pushed back..or would have been a good first 6 months...these are the ablums i'm looking forward too the most...yeah snoop and xzibit are dropping also, but its not like we've never heard them a million times already

The Roger Troutman Tribute
The Truth Hurts
South Central Cartel
Foesum
Young Noble
-
First half was OK, but the other half will smash the East.
These CD's will change the game:
XZIBIT
RAKIM
maybe Snoop, but it will be dope at least.
-
Rakim is not a West coast production.
I know is produced by dr dre but to me is not a west coast album.

The Roger Troutman Tribute
The Truth Hurts
South Central Cartel
Foesum

yup...Foesum came with a tight gfunk thing, the Troutman tribut was dope too, fine productions. SCC on the hard hitting site togetha with Dazīs new one...Truth Hurts on the r&b site...not to forget about several underground releases like jay tee & baby beesh...overall nice first half of 2002. the big releases (like dj quik) are not automaticly the best releases.
-
Yeah foesum, daz, spice 1, Quik were all tight. Also you got Keita Rock.

Tha West did pretty good this year as far as talent goes. Daz Dillinger's new album is bagin' like a muthafucka, & ''Under Tha Influence'' is str8 classic. Tha new MC Eiht is hot as well. Kam & Xzibit's new albums are my most anticipated this year.

Of course I know that Rakim is East, dont be stupid sucka.
It's basically a WestCoast-release though, since he will have 50% Dre-production, and cameos from Ras Kass, Xzibit, Dre & maybe Eminem.
But I guess you wont even hear the result since the "very over commercial Dre produces it?
Too bad you got Eazys dick too far up your ass, so you wont hear the best hiphop-album for a very long time.

with the exception of DJ Quik, MC Eiht, Foesum, Roger Troutman tribute, and Spice 1, this has been a very, VERY dissapointing first half. the second half of this year will put this one to shame, look at some of what's gonna drop within the next couple of months:
Mack 10 presents Da Hood (July 23)
Yukmouth - United Ghetto's of America compilation (July 23)
Knoc-Turn'al - EP (July 30)
Tray deee - General's List (August 20)
Shade Sheist - Informal Introduction (August 20)
Roscoe - Young Roscoe Philaphornia (August)
Xzibit - Man vs. Machine (September 3)
Crooked I - Say Hi to the Bad Guy (September 10)
Ras Kass - Van Gogh (October 23)
WC - Ghetto Heisman (fall 2002)
The Relativez (fall 2002)
Mr. Lil One (Fall 2002)

My bad
I forgot about the topic
-
So far, I'm kinda disappointed. I mean, DJ Quik, MC Eiht, and Spice 1 were good, but it's nothing I listen to over and over again like I do with other CD's. I really think the new Xzibit will be a high replay album though. Hopefully, the Snoop will be too.
