The only exception I can think of is Ice Cube, and frankly, Cube's diss towards Dre on No Vaseline wasn't nearly as hard as his disses to Ren and Eazy. Did Snoop every officially diss Dre?
He's never worked on unreleased 2Pac or Eazy-E tracks (might be cuz of contractual issues with Death Row or Ruthless, but Eminem just did that 2Pac album). He's never done shit with Daz again. Nothing with J-Flexx. Needless to say, none of the minor figures either, like CJ Mac, The Realest, etc. Nothing with Dresta or BG KO.
Thoughts?
-
why would he waste his time?
-
Yeah, a lot of it might be because they've never amounted to shit on their own anyway. But I wonder if it might be the other way around. Maybe dissing Dre will really just fuck up your music career for good. Not many guys have fared too well after (not counting E or Pac...but then again, they're both dead now too).
-
I think he never worked on posthumous 'Pac and probably also Eazy works, because he is against this idea of releasing albums of dead people.
-
he didnt even work with snoop ever again after the JD thing... i dunno why
snoop did talk some bullshit and was mad at dre
remember how close they were in early 2001 after the wash sdtk dropped (which was a joint release between both their labels)
and after this shit went down i never saw them together ever... no beats from dre.. no vocals
snoop isnt even featured on any of aftermath releases (not even game's)
pimp remix happend thru sha money xl not dre or em

Im getting tired of Dre's bitching
when ur as talanted as dre, you can afford to bitch
-
he worked with Kokane again
-
he did shit for jayo
-
the D.O.C and RBX dissed dre and they worked with him again

the D.O.C and RBX dissed dre and they worked with him again
Ah, I forgot about them. Cool.
-
So a new question. If you were an up and coming rapper under Ja Rule, Suge, or JD...Would you diss Dre because your boss told you to? Keeping in mind that you might lose your contract or get shelved if you didn't.
-
DOC is like dre's closest homie
he gives him free beats not only work with him
-
what did Daz say to Dre to diss him?
-
^^ lol whole lotta shit
he claims he produced doggystyle and like half of the chronic
called him gay, when suge was trying to convince ppl that he is really gay
-
Im getting tired of Dre's bitching
im getting tired of stupid comments like this. dre is rich as fuck. why should he surround himself with negative people who dissed him for attention? he's a legend and he dont need none of these cats.
-
^^ truest shit u ever said
dre can drop his whole roster and start all over again and still sell like crazy.. well atleast it happend once and i suppose it could happen again
-
^ only once?
remember what he went to death row with.. nothin..
and IMO he brought ruthless up too...
father of 3 dynastys..
-
^^ well he sorta knew whose going with him to deathrow.. he still started from nuthin.. he launched the label by the chronic
but when he dropped all those cats on the 1997 aftermath and dropped the firm then signed em and hittman
but yea i agree w/you

Dre HAS worked with Snoop after their apparent "fall out" in 2002. Snoop recorded vocals for Dre that same year ( Xzibit's "Losin' Your Mind ) and Snoop did hit the studio with Dre last summer ( for the "Westside Story" remix and the line he dropped on "Higher" ), whether or not they did any tracks together is anyone's guess...most likely, any new Dre\Snoop shit is hush-hush and kept on the low, for obvious reasons. They wanna do it big by catching people off guard.
As far as cats dissing him, it is what it is. One thing about Dre is that he ALWAYS tries to move forward. Working with the same artists he produced for back in the day isn't really his thing. Nate Dogg is the only artist I can think of that still works with Dre on a semi-regular basis, probably because they're cool with each other and cuz Nate has enough talent for Dre to tap into and produce hit records with.
-
i thinks its just a quinsidence

Ruthless was all Eazy's people
he went to Death Row with D.O.C., Michel'le, Ruben Cruz

that Xzibit track was recorded before that. and how you know snoop was in the studio with dre? game might have brought him in and just had dre mix the tracks later. and you see the version with snoop didnt even get released...
-
has he ever worked with people who dissed him but had never worked with him in the past?
hopin he works with Dresta
-
^ if Dresta wants ;)
u gotta remember that it takes two to tango..
Whats the last time Dresta dissed Dr Dre? that "Fuck NWA" song? which is supposedly a leftover from "too gangsta for radio"
-
im almost sure Dresta wants 2 since he gave em a shout out on that one song "My Time"
What the fuck is Dr. Dre waitin on/
I know you here it nigga, call me lets clear it nigga/

naw that rumor was BS
-
hahhhaaha oh man, after reading all the above...
Are we looking into this stuff too much..
Maybe im just not in the mood to care too much about DRE...with assignments and exams looming..
What would happen if i said....
Fuck DRE.
(oh man i am gunna get burned alive for this).

Im getting tired of Dre's bitching
I've never heard Dre bitch about much of anything. Niggas diss Dre all the time and he barely says anything at all, he just keeps making money.
-
^ its true.. outside JD, and Ja Rule Dr Dre aint ever bitched about or dissed anyone for 10 years
-
I never heard Dre bitch about anyone who talked shit about him. And those people he chose not to work with again, it might be because they're trying to steal credit and act like Dre stole theirs.
It's pretty well known that The Chronic was a group effort, but that Dre was the master behind it all. Now I've heard from various people that Dre did most of Doggystyle alone.
His work pretty much speaks for itself. If that isn't enough, listen to the people that has worked and works with him.
-
asif dre is gonna phone up 'dresta' and go
"YEAH MATE LETS WORK TOGETHER"
if he wants a dre beat, u gotta pay the $250000 like everyone else
and u have to contact him
hes quite blatently a busy guy

I doubt that Game brought Snoop in himself, then again who knows. But the 'dropping of one line' thing on a track is an element that Dre's used for years. Examples include Eminem on "Bang Bang", Busta Rhymes on "The Documentary", even Snoop on "Let's Play House" back in the day, when Dre mixed it. Snoop's part on Higher was more than likely, Dre's idea, imo.

One way to look at it is to put yourself in Dre's shoes. You are a hugely successful, groundbreaking producer that is considered by many to be one of the best in the music world. He has a talent pool that guarantees many more millions to his already considerable wealth. He built himself up from scratch once (Ruthless), and came back from the dead twice to build empires. I would imagine someone like that would have good reason to be pretty arrogant. I'm wondering if his pride is what keeps him from reaching out to people who dissed him long after the fact. Perhaps it's that same pride that keeps him going even today, after all that success.
The truth is, Dre is probably the most dissed person in the rap world. I find it hard to name one other rapper or producer who has been dissed so many times by so many people. This is probably due to his longevity too, but after the millions, the fame, and the house up in the hills overlooking the sea, what do you have left to work for? I think all that he has now to motivate him is to send a big "fuck you" out to those who dogged on him in the past. I guess people never get over being dissed, no matter how big they are.
The exceptions to that rule are probably the guys he came up with...DOC, Cube, Eazy.
