the dre thread seems to be getting some good discussion, so i thought why not...
i'll have to go with adina howard - aint no need
but close contenders include deborah cox - one wish and shello - good thang - both very smooth. this should be interesting cause a lot of quiks work seems to cross over into a smooth r&b style of production. will be interesting to see what people put up in here as r&b cuts. i chose those ones above cause they are the best of what i consider to be straight r&b style. thinkin' bout u, summer breeze, the recently leaked there she goes with nate dogg could also be included and are personal favourites. there's some smooth stuff on street gospel too.
and the whitney track doesn't count because quik only mixed the track (correct me if i'm wrong there but i read that raphael saadiq did the production on it, even though it sounds very quik). apparently quik produced 50% of the danny boy lp too but we might never get to hear that stuff. that come when i call tune track was a very good one though.
what do people think...

Is that Adina Howard song you are talking about "Freak And You Know It" or is it a different one? Also, what Whitney track was mixed by Quik??
-
R Kelly, Quik & Mausberg - it's like everyday
-
whitney houston - fine. i thought it was produced by quik for a long time and it even mentions that he worked with whitney in the dj quik greatest hits booklet, but like i said i've read otherwise and that quik only mixed it.
freak and u know it is a tight track but i am talking about a different one called ain't no need. as far as i know it's a bonus track on the same album, but not 100% sure on that.

Definitely Let's get down.
I'm not really lookin was hot too. Damn...I've been playin Nate Dogg's "There she goes" all day since I got it, and I feel like makin a Quik CD with all the shit he produced for other people. What other R&B songs has he done other than what y'all have listed?
-
another good remix he did was for Ginuwine.
Its called I'll Do Anything (Remix), I dont think this song is out in CDQ? Version I have is like a radio rip.
and for R-Tistic.
Quik remixed dwayne Wiggins STRANGE FRUIT that was a tight remix & Raphael Saadiq "Thinkin Of U" which used an Al Green sample.
did a remix to Janet Jacksons ALL FOR YOU which has his rythmalism style of prod. very up tempo song.
and Im pretty sure he produced DANCE with christopher williams and Hi-C.
-
tone toni tony no doubt. that song still sets it off today.
