Title: last nights w. football... England 3 - Finland 2 - EURO 2005

anyone else watch the opening game of EURO 2005 last night?


was quite impressed by the game.. obviously they arent as polished as the men's game.. a bit slack in some cases..
but all round pretty good..

we only just won it after having been 2-0 up at half time.


this is womans international football/soccer btw..

Some decent fanny playing. Can't kick a ball though - positionally they are all over the place. Should really stick to looking pretty and cooking.

ya so right about their positions.. they couldnt keep their formation.. but i think thats more due to the fact that they just aren't that good a womans team.. i saw highlights of other teams and they looked spot on..

their lack of skill makes the game more interesting in a random way as posession was often lost through silly faults

Yeah it's light hearted entertainment. The old shirt over the head when scoring would spice things up. Not sure about them been a poor womans team though, my understanding was that they were favourites for winning it. Maybe I just made that up.

yup you made that up.. lol... they had to win last nights game as the other teams we're up against are considered stronger and for finland it was the first time they'd ever made it past qualification.. they actually did pretty bad compared to pre-match expectations which put them at an easy 2-0 victory.

i turned on Eurosport like a minute before the 3-2 goal so i really donīt know if it was a decent match or not.
