Chelsea prepare new bid for Atletico Madrid's £60M Torres
tribalfootball.com - June 6, 2005
Chelsea are launching a new bid for Atletico Madrid captain Fernando Torres.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich wants to bring the Spanish superkid to Stamford Bridge next season and is willing to offer £40 million for the striker.
Torres' buyout clause is £60 million, but Abramovich will test Atletico's resolve in the coming week with a mega offer for the youngster.
Chelsea had a £24 million bid rejected by Atletico last summer and now intends to almost double that to prise Torres away from Madrid.
For his part, the young striker declared: "The fans should be calm because I am very happy at Atletico. It is my home. I want to win something important with this club."

hasnt he got the brains to kno he'll win absolutely nuthin at atletico? :stupid:
if he wants to help them out then he'll move, givn them 60 million to build a better team that will have a realistic chance of competing for something...
thats if there is any truth to the story :)

Mac will you please stop posting bullshit rumours eh?
-
if he signs for them i demand a solid gold apology
-
You can go fuck yourself. I'm talking about in general, not particulary Torres. The amount of rumours you post then it stands to reason that at least one is going to be right.
-
^^man if you dont like the posts dont bother looking at them.no need to complain
-
I suggest you read your own advice. I'm just having a bit of banter with him.
-
which rumours have turned out to be complete bullshit?
-
What are you blind eh? This isn't going to happen, especially not for £60M. The Sun reported that they made a bid of £16M, I'd say that was a closer figure to what they would have to pay.
-
no way in hell would you get him for 16 million - that's bs right there
by today's standards 60 million isn't out of this world or anything..it could easily happen
