Question for you GAME:
Didn't you jus start TRYIN to rap like a couple years back..
I mean
yea you successful n all
But why would someone who admits they jus started rappin recently gonna write a song with lyrics about jam master jay and real pioneers who lives and breathes the culture. Sure you in it now and you can pay respects, but don't make a living off of those who actually brough this music to the forefront. What if you was Jam master and you put your blood sweat n tears into your work and made this music lifestyle into sumthin..then you get taken out of this world tragically..and a couple years later you got some guy you never met who jus turned up outta nowhere cus he hooked up with the right people ( and I know you was puttin in work in the underground with Jt and black wall street, but you wasn't singin bout jam master jay then was you, and if you stayed there you wouldn't be would you. we all know that ) singin about how he had a vision of you in his sleep or whatever you yappin..My point is... respect your elders and the ones who made it possible for you..but respect and using their name and accomplishments to boost your movement is not right....I'm sure at this point your career can get by without you having to namedrop all the time...Your aware that your album is the #1 namedropping album in hip hop of all time, maybe any genre.. Now is that a title you want to continue holding? Biggest namedropper to even put out records..I would hope not for your and the future of hip hop's sake. I mean we all know you got a lucky break. Cus lets face it. Your voice is average, your rhymes and delivery are average and I know you don't even write all your shit, your gimmick has already been done in the past with nwa and eazy and thats another reason why you got some success ( which I also feel is similar to namedroppin, cus you may not be usin nwa's and eazy's names but you sure takin what they already did and redoin it so its as good or worse than namedroppin ), I am not tryin to completely hate on you but if this was the willy wonka movie your ass landed the golden ticket. so since you got the ticket how bout don't take it for granted and eat up all the candy in that bitch. Cus you know you could be back in hollywood trying to get on more dating games if you wasn't blessed..so how bout bless us all, including the ones who've loved hip hop before you knew what it even was. And make some fuckin original non name droppin music..Please...For the sake of the culture that pays your bills and family...save us don't shit on us.
If you disagree or agree its up to you..leave comments if you feels

good for you.im 100% he'll quit rap now

There's far worse shit out there that really is hurting hip-hop. Maybe you should write John Cena, Nelly and the St. Lunatics, Bow Wow and cats like that a letter. They really don't do anything for hip-hop. At least The Game is trying.
-
What is the point of this letter? It sounds to me like you just hatin' on Game. U just tellin' ur opinions. No real hard facts of why Game is hurtin' hip-hop.
And how was Game disrespectin' Jam Master Jay in "Dreams"??
-
I personally don't think an artist that raps can hurt hip hop.
-
first let me address str8 west...i can tell your all about that mainstream whatever mtv rocks i rock too type of attitude so you don't have the depth or brain to handle a convo like this so your skipped..
next
to Mr. Nice Guy
I agre..there is far worse, but at least they not steppin on others toes or draggin others names in the mud..
Nelly is horrible but I'd rather them try to market a country grammer guy who talks gooft but is who he is rather than some guy who claims to be ressurecting the westcoast but usin a gig thats already been done ( eazy and nwa, etc ) st. lunatics is with nelly so basically thats still sayin nelly sucks..and I agree I hate nelly with a passion BUT he came into the scene and put out knockin single after knockin single ( not to me but to some ones out there, and apparently lots of someones ) and he didnt need no1 to be chillin in the background of his video and he didnt need to name drop and didnt need a cool click to say he's down..he established himself..and then came the bullshit..this game guy been floodin nothin but bullshit since he been in the spotlight. And he turned his back on the people who tried to help him before he even got noticed ( JT bigga figga ) but now Jt gets a percentage of the shit game makes cus game was young n still stupid to how shit works..but he deserves that cus he left Jt to dry and went on to other folks without admittin jt was puttin him on the map.. and as far as bow wow...bro bow wow is catering to a young audiance..would you rather a young audience listen to his fu fu lyrics or lyrics like "bust my nine kill a nig dead, fuc5 hoes hate police yadi yadi ya." once again i'm not defendin bow wow cus I hate him too...but he is what he is and what he portrays himself to be.. The game was on dating shows tryin to break into tv the hollywood way and suddenly he's the next frontrunner for westcoast gangsta rap..sorry I'm not buyin it cus I have knowledge, eyes ears and a brain....
yea those others you named are hurtin hip hop too..
but this guy is wrecklessly hurtin it..he's namedrop and sample and steal anything he can as long as his pockets gettin lines up... I mean he left g-unit..then they reunite on the same day b.i.g died, what a big publicity act...I mean I can go on for days about how this guy is hurting the culture but screw it...I'll noyl have 15 and 16 yr old tryin to tell me why hes the real deal and the kost gangsterific out there...right
-
Adon..if you gonna defend the GAME take that E40 pic off your sh!t then...
you can't defend phony artists when you got a real tycoon hardhitter as your pic

sorry man, but i think your letter is wack. he's not hurtin hip-hop, it's just the way the world turns.
-
LMAO theres Millions of people who listen 2 hiphop but don't know anything before 2pac & Biggie atleast he given them the propz they deserve your just a Hater :P
-
man all game is doin is a DOCUMENTARY on hip hop music thats why he called it that so people who dont listen to hip hop can check out these guys u jus sound like u dont like him and want everyone to rally with your course your wrong bro. game isnt destroyin hip hop at all he is tryin to teach the next generation wat to listen to. wud u rather them listen to 50 cent and G Unit or Nelly and shit thats not good hip hop i believe game is tryin to remind us how hip hop shud be from that era and not this shit we hear now. i believe game successed in this and therefore made a great album and another contribution to hip hop.
i know u have opinions but you should probably keep those opinions to yourself and not try and bad mouth a guy to his face if u eva find out where to send this letter
theres my 2 cents....
-
Dogg, your fuckin stupid. Please kill yourself. What a fuckin idiot

game can rap about 'back in the day' all he likes, but it isn't coming back, i think dre has realised that and has moved on
-
wow, whata heart felt letter, he's gonna think twice after reading this...... ::)
-
wow, whata heart felt letter, he's gonna think twice after reading this...... ::)
For real...what are the chances of Game actually reading this letter anyway? Let him to his thing homie, if you don't like it then don't bump it, listen to artists that you dig.
-
it aint all black + white
It is.

-
Man, If that's how ya feel bout him then cool...let the shit out and move on to support real hip hop.
-
Just as I thought...Every1 gonna jump the bandwagon and say " oh he's a cool guy and he's doin this for hip hop yadi yadi ya"
any of y'all ever go to hip hop events, b boy summits, graffitti shows, mc battles..shit like that..any of y'all ever even try to contribute to the hip hop world..of course not.. y'all still realizing that 2pac was in digital underground just now..
Yes..
it IS black and WHITE.. rap has all outlets of music, we got gangsta rap, we got r&b rap, we got rap rock type stuff, we got hip hop..
now obviously GAME takin the gangsta rap route..tryin to follow eazy e's shadow and what not.. but lets get real, its a fuckin gimmick..now I dunno bout y'all but if I'mma listen to a certain type of music thats supposed to show me a certain lifestyle or give a certain feel..I wanna make sure dude is real.. Now some1 who was auditioning to be a hollywood actor and been on tv dating shows aint my idea of a gangster rapper, and I'd like y'all to name me 1 other blood you've known in your life who sported a tounge ring, I guarentee you won't be able to name none.
Also, lets put the shoe on the other foot, say Rock music was the thing that was in, but it was starting to fizzle out and get overrun by marketing acts just as it did and as hip hop is doing. Now at the end of the rock era, if you were a fan from the start of it all, would you wanna see some new rock act that came out of nowhere and was making rock tunes for pepsi commercials or what not, then suddenly got signed by pure luck cus they aint standout, but all the sudden your forcefed this mediocre bands music as they speak to you about the times when rock and roll was good, and start namin off acts like jimi hendrix and rolling stones and whatever. You'd say, who the fuck is this guy speakin on the people who made the jusic real, why does he think he should be the one to speak about it and not somebody else who earned the right to. Now if Dr. dre make an album called documentary talkin bout hip hop I'd feel it more than likely cus that man seen it from start to end, or ice cube, or ice t to name a few...real mc's who been around to see hip hop evolve.. I'm not gonna take hip hop lessons from some guy who learned about it within the mid 90's..please.. thats why you 15-18 yr olds can feel it but us older can't..
And by the way the letter wasn't amiled to his pad or nothin you idiots it was just a simple myspace letter which he'll never read anyways..
But I wanted to speak my opinion on it..and of course he won't care or won't read it..but I'm not gonna be like all the lemmings and act like I'm down with his cause when I'm not..
the main purpose of this letter for me was actually to post it on sites like these and watch the followers come out from the shadows..
Y'all do some research..learn about your favorite artists before tyou start clinching to their jocks...you might suprise yourself and learn sumthin you shoulda known a while ago.. And if any1 is listenin to the game to get their education on hip hop past, hip hop don't want you a part of its future, cus you already failed the test. or the game should I say
-
Wow, man that letter sucked. If you're going to write someone a letter, you should at least make it a good one. I ain't a Game fan by the way. You should write him a letter about him being a biter. But post it up here so we can proof read it.
-
I didn't even read the letter but I feel confident in saying it's a bunch of bullshit.
and shut the fuck up
-
Man, I've been into hiphop since the 80's, and I'm probably older than most of the heads here, but I don't really see how the Game is ruining hip hop. If anything, he's paying homage to peeps like Jam Master Jay. Even though the name dropping is excessive and annoying after a while, I think he really is trying to pay respects to the Eazy E's and the Jam Master Jays, who made this whole hip hop thing happen.
Besides one man can't bring down a whole culture, hip hop is bigger than that. Instead of complaining about game, are you supporting the acts that you feel are really putting out quality music? Are you going to their shows? Are you buying their albums? How are you supporting hip hop as a culture?
We have had way too much mindless criticism and bitchin by self proclaimed "real hip hop heads" and I include myself in that group, as I've done it myself. Shit I've made posts on this board mercilessly criticising Snoop, calling him a sellout for working with Justin Timberlake, but I woke up, and realized that hip hop is still thriving, and that's it's a waste of time and energy getting worked up over those that I perceive as not keeping it real. I'd rather support and prop those that are representing properly. If you want to see hip hop thrive, then focus your energy on those who you feel are reppin it right instead of worrying about what the Game is doing.
-
Thanks for the class lesson, and yes I do contribute to hip hop as I have helped out b boy summits and such.. I've been on numerous street teams promoting artists and goin to their shows..
And, since you are from the 80's era, it should be easy for you to nitce that the exposure of the culture is changing. And I would never ever blame the entire fall of a music genre on one person. I just feel he is aware of what he is doin and how excessive he name drops, and its my personal opinion that I feel he is NOT name dropping to show respect but to gain exposure and seem like he's a big part of it.. I mean 50 cent did the same shit when he made that underground song " how to rob a n!gga" or sumthin named close to that, where he name dropped on everybody but wasn't payin respect instead talkin shit..that song skyrocketed his exposure and I think its cheap and a shortcut for any1 to get big..by trashin others who have already made it, or in games case..kissin others asses whove already made it..like I said I grew up with the music and don't need some1 who just learn about it in the kid 90's to tell me bout jammaster jay when He himself wasn't listening to that at the time... And y'all can say the letter is bullshit , but aside from the opinions i sate..all the facts are true.. it is the biggest namedroppin album of all time,..he was tryin to get into hollywood before rap.. he is a blood with a toungering.. he screwed over the guy who helped bring him into the business ( kinda like how 50 left the silverback guerillaz aka origianl g unti when he hit it big ).. I mean I can go on.. and no its not hate..I have ears and I listen..aside from me not buying his act if he did have talent I'd have to respect that..but bein an average mc with an average flow and jus usin other people who made it as your stepping stone..not feelin it... maybe 1 day one of you cna make a huge contributution to something..then later on have some1 else come and use your EXACT method to make themselves big, would that make you feel happy..?
I could go on for days tho..i'm dealin with MTV lemmings here would wouldn't pass a 5 question hip hop quizz so forget it..
-
Okay then, why not educate peeps on what acts you're feelin, the cats who are representing the shit correctly? If you have knowledge, you can spread it without coming accross like an ass, like you're doing now.
Instead, you come on here, acting arrogant, putting down those that post here and spewing your hate at your target.
We all know that hip hop has changed quite a bit since for the 80's. Some of the changes have been good. Some of the changes have been bad, but that's ok. The reason why is you can't have the good without the bad. You can't have the positive without the negative. These opposing forces have been affecting hiphop for a couple of decades or longer. That won't change nor should it.
Anyway, why not contribute to the board instead of cutting down those that post here. Why not build instead of destroy? That's all I see you doing here with your posts, destroying. Chill with the attitude and quit trying to act like you're above everyone else here. Ain't nobody tryin to hear that.
-
i'm dealin with MTV lemmings here would wouldn't pass a 5 question hip hop quizz so forget it..
Why are you posting then?
Take you hate elsewhere.
