Title: Jodeci! HELP!!
Post by: manicallyhip on June 10, 2005, 10:23:28 AM: Was listening to launch and they played this song called Stay by a group called Jodeci. Apparently they are brothers with a gospel music background singing hip hop & R&B songs...

i saw they had a new cd out this week - i looked up their labels website (universal) for more info but wasnt finding anythng much...
anyone know anything about this grp??? where were they for so long???

Jodeci have been about since 1991, good band they've got some qulaity albums, they also have a song on the Murder was the case soundtrack which you've probs heard

Shocked that you ain't heard of them before ???

Man, Jodeci has been around - 14 years, wow time really flies. Maybe you've heard of KC and Jo Jo? The group was the two brothers and some cat named Devante Swing. Since Devante didn't do anything on a solo tip, I guess he wasn't that talented, eh? I wouldnt seem those cats get back together and put out some more hits. I'm sick of the KC and Jo Jo slow, ballad crap. They had one ballad hit and now think all of their songs need to be sound a likes of their one hit. KC and Jo Jo were also singing and in the Tupac video for How Do U Want It. I know u've heard that song!

Look, the guy has 1 post. He's being paid to be an online promotion team for Jodeci's new album... but he knows if he posts "There's a new Jodeci album out tuesday, go buy it!" it'll get deleted. So, instead, he mentions Jodeci, asks about Stay, mentions they have a new album coming out, and even had the balls to plug Universal's website, LOL.

It's definately classic material. I've never heard of anybody not knowing who Jodeci is. I think they're back together. And Devante started the careers of Timbaland and Missy Elliot. You ever heard of them?

One of the best cuts on 2pac's All Eyes on Me was produced by Devante Swing.

I agree with Trauma on the poster's marketing ploy. I'll admit it was more clever than the other self promoting posts that we get here.

I didnt realize they had such a long career - posisbly wasnt listening to their music when they were big in the 90s!
Through the searching i've heard that they tried to release a Best OF album earlier in 1999 but some reason it never came out....and so now - finally this is out....a Greatest Hits Album - Back to the Future: The Very Best of Jodeci
