Boring? Possibly. Fundamental? Definitely. I believe this is the best finals match-up we've seen in a while...Two great teams who know every aspect of the game. Teamwork, defense, offense...The Spurs and the Pistons are obviously the 2 best coached teams in the league (who said coaches don't make the difference?). They're disciplined, they're competitive, they leave the drama at home...They just know how to play basketball the way the game was meant to be played. And when's the last time every single match-up in the finals was amazing?
The bomb back-court match-ups:
Chauncy Billups vs. Tony Parker
Richard Hamilton vs. Manu Ginobli
The defensive stoppers match-up:
Tayshan Prince vs. Bruce Bowen
The battle of the big men:
Rasheed Wallace/Ben Wallace vs. Tim Duncan/Nazr Mohammed
...And this is just in the starting line-up...Even the benches match up nicely...
Antonio McDyse vs. Robert Horry
Carlos Arroyo vs. Beno Udrih
Lindsay Hunter vs. Brent Barry
Elden Campbell vs. Rasho Nesterovic
Those are ALL amazing match-ups...When's the last team we've seen 2 teams with so much will face eachother? I obviously think the Spurs will win, but it wouldn't surprise me if this series went 7 games....People wanna call it boring and unexciting, but this is basketball...This is pure...This should be straight entertainment for someone who loves the game...Fuck Shaq and his empty promises, I'm glad Miami didn't reach the finals... Who wants to see an inexperienced team getting mashed on and bitched around in the finals? We've seen this enough, it's time for some real basketball...In game 1 the teams adjusted. Now game 2 is gunna be the biggest game in the series...Both teams will come out ready and hungry, and the winner will set the tone the rest of the series...Let the games begin.

I only watched Game 7 of the heat and detriot game lol. Boring playoffs so far.
With this finals i'll probably be watching. I missed the first game cuz of work, im gonna catch the second for sure. This is the type of series you want to watch. The BEST playing THE BEST. Every point counts in this series with the way these two teams play.

Now_Im_Blowed...
for once...you and I agree on something! :o
This Finals is a dream matchup for basketball fans that actually like basketball and can relish in the fact that the two teams playing play the game the best. Would it get more ratings if the scores were in the 120's? Yes. But hey, who cares, I'd rather see two teams that give everything they have on the court, don't have outside issues, and play the game like it should be played rather than watch the Suns and the Heat.
I stand corrected...you and I agree on another thing...I think the Spurs will win this series as well.
You need to stop taking my side!! It's more fun arguing with you! :P

Best finals since the 98 series between the Bulls and Jazz

Fuck Shaq and his empty promises, I'm glad Miami didn't reach the finals... Who wants to see an inexperienced team getting mashed on and bitched around in the finals? We've seen this enough
You're just saying that because Shaq proved that the Lakers needed him more than they needed Kobe. Also, you're right, nobody wants to see teams getting mashed on and bitched around in the finals like the Pistons did to the Lakers.
Yea, Shaq proved it because, of course, he was the only player who left the Lakers last year... ::)
-
The point is that the Lakers need Shaq more than they need Kobe. If it wasn't for Shaq's age, the Lakers would've kept him, but they decided to build a whole new team with a bunch of wack ass youngstas like Kobe.
You're kidding yourself if you think that keeping Shaq for the money he was demanding woulda' been worth it...
-
Either keep Kobe and get nothing out of it, or keep Shaq, pay a little more, and actually win games. I'd go with the latter.
Yea, they woulda' won so much with a declining Shaq ALONE in the west, when they couldn't win the previous year with Shaq, Kobe, Malone, and Payton...Please make sense. Thank you.
