Title: Which album is better?
Post by: gzs on June 12, 2005, 05:15:08 PM
Since both albums didn't live up to the hype at the time they were released, and both albums are later on appreciated more and more. Some people call both albums classics. Some people even say both albums were ahead of their time. Some people still don't like them. What do you think?

Both albums are good.
Neither album is close to a classic.
Neither album is "ahead of it's time".

It Was Written is the better album.

Why isn't the Doggfather considered classic?

Beatwise to me it was ahead of its time: take 2001, Freestyle Conversation, Me and my doggz, Sixx minutes, Doggyland for example.

Snoop's flow was also very creative. He transformed from young energetic "doggy" style to "been there done that" smooth softspoken style.

Overall the album consists the smoothest gangsterrap ever made.

The only problem is the poor mixing of the vocals. Probably a rush job.

I would pay $ 500 for a reissue of the album mixed by Dre instead of Pooh.

Smooth album deserves smooth mixing.
