If you were a rap fan in 1990, this was and still is the muthaphucca.....Ice Cube Put the "West" on the map. IMO
Opened the East coast to The west, by using the East formula & mixing it with The west lyric's & lifestyle...to make the perfect mixture of Gangsta shitt & Knowledge.

I gotta agree. The best album ever. Ice Cube takes you into his mind, no ego, no bullshit, no super gangsta or super pimp image, just him, his hood, his homies. Back when he only wanted to prove himself. Only album I don't fast forward through anything (not even the skits).

2Pac--All Eyez On Me
Bone--E.1999 Eternal

Ill vote for AEOM, quickly.............before I change my mind, lol.

I love The Chronic and Doggystyle, but I think All Eyez On Me is better than either of them. No album has the diversity or consistancy that AEOM has [even more amazing is the fact that its a double cd]. Id say its the best all-around hip hop album ever recorded.

And around that time Snoop, Kurupt, Daz, Lady of Rage, RBX was at the top of their lyrical skills, EVERYBODY!!! + Dre production career was top notch 2!!! He cant do this again, im pretty sure.

Post by: teecee on July 02, 2002, 09:46:29 PM: I can understand that people are sleeping on many albums as they are just not familiar with them... i know this is a Westcoast board but it just surprises me that everyone picks AEOM, Doggystyle, or Chronic (3 of my fav's too).

To who said otherwise, i feel ILLMATIC at least comes very close, if not surpasses the specatcular yet sporadic All Eyes on Me. Pac's best album has to be Me Against the World, as he was at his most humble and honest on this album, hardly dispalying the arrogance that he would on Death Row. Me Against the World marked the first time Pac actually had really dope beats......Props to someone meantioning Ra, as he along with many others have classic albums we all sleep on. THis thread should be "favourite album of all time", or "best westcoast album of all time". Anyway, i will quit complaining and vote.

the chronic....
a real classic rap album....just the way the beats were done. altho sampled but made into so tight, every song is banging with beats that are just OG to the fullest, Another pick for my would be All Eyez on Me...a classic also...great production and all but it doesnt to me with beats..compare to the all dre production on the chronic, on AEOM, some songs dont get to u that much, on the chronic, just about everything, the stories behind it, also the fact around the time with rodney king, "the day the niggaz took over" dope song, "nuthin but a g thang", one of the biggest classic songs of all time
also doggystyle, another classic, with the dope beats and the hits, and the old school lyrics that got to you and stuck on your head, als o with the chronic and doggstyle, some of the best collabos, the OG kurupt, daz, nate dogg, RBX, snoop, dre on the production..both albums had these
